The Paddles_Verbaut line is just an on or off switch for if the car has paddle shifters installed.
This actually does not dictate if it has them or not and the only real way to know if you require the wire is to physically look at your FEM or SZL connector to see if it has the specific pin connected. |

Thank you. I will have to check the FEM module physically then. It's easy to take apart.
Also, I read the whole post and some said you need to have 3190 Paddle_Verbaut listed under ICM. I don't have it listed under ICM. Hopefully, my car is preconfigured because I bought all the required wires and parts except the FEM SZL connectors. |

Hi
Need some help. F30 Base model - Trying to upgrade to a M Wheel with Paddle Shifts. I just tried the install today according to the great and awesome PDF Guide... and ran into issues. I am sure I did the wiring right. I disconnected the battery during the install. Now when I turn on the car ignition, the wiper starts off. I cannot get it to stop. I replaced the old steering wheel and removed the wire from both ends and still the wiper does not switch off. Any ideas? |

I found this page also to be handy. It's a well-written piece by another forum member.

shawnsheridan Please, I need your help. I retrofitted the paddle shifters according to the PDF guide in this thread, and currently, my wipers will not shut off. As soon as I turn on the ignition, the wipers start moving and will not shut off.
Any experience and potentially fix? THank you very much in advance. |

I FIXED IT. I redid all the connection and found out the problem was with the SZL connector at the back of the steering wheel. The connector was not seated properly. I snapped it correctly and everything works now.
WOOHOO Paddle shifters work great. |

Hey guys, new to the forum, basically making this post before starting a new thread in order to get my account upgraded, bla bla bla.
I'm working on an F32 that came equipped with a stock steering wheel and had a sport steering wheel installed. The problem that I have now is that the Airbag light is on the dashboard. This is due to the stock steering wheel having 3 gas generators while the sport steering wheel has only 1. I've looked through ISTA and ISTA/P to see if there's a conversion to remedy this but have not come across anything. Has anyone come up with a solution to this? The mad scientist in me knows theres a way to mimic airbag resistance in the remaining two circuits, but I don't want to compromise the way the ACSM will behave since there's only one airbag in the steering wheel. Anyway, let me know if there's anything ya'll came up with regarding this, imma go back to research. |

I am new to this forum. I also have trouble getting the airbag off my ugly black thin standard steering wheel, so I can replace it with a sports steering wheel. I watched like a thousand YouTube videos but every situation is different. Think I will try another option I saw, getting the screws out at the back of the wheel, so I can pull the button sections out towards me and see the airbags springs. I will post the outcome later on. |

Yes, When I soldered my wires, it was not the best soldering job so there was not great connectivity. I pulled them out resoldered and reran the wires and was good to go. Everything works as intended now!
