Fuel lines are okay. But you should do the research. Also, stock fuel pump doesn't like E85. You need the TU pump at minimum.

Jesus, does anyone search anything anymore. As said before, fuel lines are E85 compatible. You can run up to E25-30 on the stock fuel pump.

Been running the Stage 2 E30 map just fine on stock HPFP.

I was having rail pressure drops down to 1700-1900 with stock pump on stage 2 E30 map. A little too low for my comfort.

Yeah I don't really like the idea of running e30 map on the stock pump. If the rail pressure goes down the cylinder might get dry lol then you are f*****d

Ah, gotcha. The importance of logging and "every car is different" is understated. I did an E32ish mix, and mine drops to 2400psi for 400rpm (2700 - 3100). Before and after that range, rail pressure is good. I can live with the 400psi dip.

Really? Alex from Mission Performance saw dips in rail pressure with just 1 gallon of E on car on the stock pump. Was noticeable in driving too...felt like timing being pulled 🤷

Not questioning your findings mate but where did you read running E85 with stock fuel lines are compatible for the long term ?

On my official BMW fuel cap label it says maximum E10.

As far as I read engines built for running high Ethanol content are using different materials on the whole fuel system as Ethanol is very a corrosive fuel.

I think at this point nobody knows what long term damage could Ethanol cause.

Unless BMW went back to 80s fuel lines from what they have been using the last 15-20 years. They are (and all other cars) compatible with E85. BMW says E10 because that is what is needed to get the mpg and emissions they state. Would love to hear examples of BMW fuel systems being damaged by E85. My previous 150k mile N55 had no issue with it, neither do any of the N54s. The only issue with E85 is that over time it absorbs water and does not have the same lubrication gas does. But that's when you run straight E85 and let it sit in the tank for 5 months.

I'm running the stage 2 91 map on MHD. Apparently the support told me to leave it on 91 because the European 91 is actually 93 here in the states.
So no idea, I'm getting around 92.7-93 octane with 2.5 gallons of E
It 100% running better than my stock 91 octane
But I want to clear a tank of the 2.5 gallon before I Log it

99 RON in Europe is 93 octane ((R+M)/2) in the US, 95 RON is 91 octane. Unless they're talking about a different octane measurement I'm not aware of.

Running e it’s a good idea to test the base fuel. There seems to be massive swings between stations so this could impact on the likelihood of the HPFP crashing.

Have you run any logs since putting it in. Generally e seems to clean up timing at the right amounts.

This x10000. I ALWAYS test the "E85" every time I fill up (then do matrix reduced row echelon form to tell me how much ethanol and 91 to put in). It's an extra 3-5 minute hassle to ensure I'm getting as close to a perfect mixture as possible. And my logs look decent because of it.

I ran 40% E85 with meth. Your fuel lines will be fine. Yes indeed the car runs way better with even a small splash of ethanol.
