440i unofficially confirmed for week 36
I order a 440i and I was finally told by the Genius dept it was unofficially confirmed for the 36th week to be produced:
Does this mean it is likely to be produced or is there a chance for it to be delayed? Also, I have read in a few places but have seen conflicting information is it likely to be finished that week or just started? Anyone that has ever ordered a car: How long did it take to ship across the water I am on the East Coast (Georgia). If interested here are the specs: Estoril Blue Metallic Coral Red Dakota Leather with Black highlight MSport Package Executive Package Driving Assistance Package Active Cruise Control Black Kidney Grilles CF Front Attachment w/CF Lip Carbon Fiber & Alcantara trim Carbon Fiber Mirror Caps Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler Chrome Exhaust Tips Dynamic Digital Cluster Head-up Display Heated Steering Wheel Heated rear seats M Performance Power & Sound Stainless Steel Pedals Wireless Charging |

The allocation week is the completion week. They seem to be mostly accurate, but there are sometimes parts delays. I assume your car would go on a ship that stops in Brunswick, GA. They seem to run more than once per week and take about 18 days. You have port-installed options which add delays after docking, that are sometimes significant. My car, that is in transit now, finished production on July 25 and got to the port of exit July 30. It got onto a ship on August 5. My trip is longer (west coast, through Panama Canal). It is expected to reach the port of entry on Sept. 3. I am guessing it will take a week to clear customs, get processed and examined at the VPC and take the one-day ride to the dealer. This assumes there was no shipping damage. I have no options to be installed at the port. My time might be extended because Sept 3 is Labor Day.

These options do not take a lot of time to install. On average, 2-3 extra days at VDC depending on other cars scheduled with port installed options.

The price is always better if the vehicle you are buying is in stock. Ordering the vehicle shortly before month end or quarter end can be more advantageous, if the dealer has more aggressive sales quotas. But - these elements are not visible to the consumer.
If you are happy with the vehicle (the options list looks great), just enjoy it. Just a thought: M Performance exhaust tips look better than chrome exhaust tips. By the way, any insights why M Sport Package is listed twice? |

It says that on my tracking page. The first "M Sport Package" is not expandable. The second one has all the features of the package, including the Adaptive M Suspension. |

Did it arrive?
OP,
I have a 440i cabriolet in queue right now but was wondering what the normal timing was. Saw a couple good posts above but did your experience match theirs? Thanks |
