Great.
So when you find the answer to that (in Bimmerpost or elsewhere), let me know please:

"And I definitely want to know how to flash back to stock xdrive, not x-deletes version of x-drive, I never thought of that."

Somewhere I probably still have the dealership training white paper from xDrive introduction.

M have different bias, 0:100, FWD are 100:0.

everything else is. 40:60.
Period.
Programming schmogamming. The actual code might vary but the results being output are identical despite hardware differences.

40:60. And if I remember my fact sheet, that changes over 100 mph to more like 20:80 for improved stability.

And it works pretty fine.
You aren’t saving hardly any power by adjusting the bias to 0:100, you are still powering all the extra rotating mass... just using the ground to do it indirectly instead of the driveshaft.

I could see this being useful for burnout contests and Dyno pulls. And that’s about it.
I thought I’d hate the awd, but it’s pretty good.
I think the old viscous coupling was a bit smoother to engage. I’m sure with a less laggy turbo you could take advantage to really power thru the corners by applying power early and tightening the corner to let the car 4 wheel drift slightly under power on the way out. That’s how we did it on the “good old days” of viscous couplings and torsens

By recoding to BMW specs via ista or during a dealership full-programming event?
Little bit different than flashing via their software.

The desire is to be able to do it easily yourself.

Need to be parked, and on ignition mode.

It's faster now if you use MHD black wifi adapter, it's compatible with xDelete and XHP now.

Don't forget turn in and steering feel.

There's a considerable difference when I went xDelete.

Regardless, flash counter will be incremented and warranty claims most likely voided.

I kinda see where you are going in 1 direction there, but my direction is an absolute.

Seems fun, if you are out of warranty.

Warranty is one thing (yes, it will be voided if discovered, irrespective of what software load is currently on and in my case I have several years of warranty still).
But I was more thinking that I would like to be driving my own vehicle's native, stock XDrive software when in XDrive, not XDelete's dump of some other vehicle's (potentially different/outdated) load.
In other words (irrespective of warranty considerations) I (and this is just me) would definitely prefer to be riding stock when not using the XDelete RWD.

It's not just your cars. It's your comments too. You sound like the type to see technology progress, but say you don't trust it because your 1970 3-speed whoopdie do did just fine without it.

Ok. But that has no bearing on a new option that has been proven across platforms.

I am a bit confused.
Most of the folks on here are US / Canada and have petrol 35i engines with xdrive have done the x delete.
You are turning off the traction control and getting lots of wheel spin back end moving out and this is of course a safety issue.
Over here BMW will only sell the 335d in xdrive in am led to believe because they think the torque is too much for rwd only from a safety perspectve.
Over here in the UK we have lots of 340i engines running only rwd as stock. BMW seem happy to sell these that people can run without the traction control. So I am at a loss why the 335i engines from an xdrive with xdelete are felt to behave so badly and as they are surely just behaving like a 340i with the traction off that BMW build? The fault to my mind is not removing the x drive but removing the x drive and turning traction off.
Maybe I am missing something?

This is peculiar. Would the following preclude flashing of XDelete as well?
https://www.2addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1603379
Has anyone with a late SW version / update done recently attempted to or successfully done XDelete? (the thread is for a different model, but the same i-Step codes appear on our vehicles)

There are very competent and knowing-it-all Software engineers here which I am sure will contribute with the best they have, as they always do.

Not a F30 but I've had xDelete on my E90 since it came out about a year ago.

Works great and zero issues. Mostly use the RWD mode but have tried the snow and sport modes. Always keep reverting back to RWD mode. Drives better and less wear/tear on the transfer case, front differential and front drive shafts.

I'll turn AWD on for bigger snow storms but that's about it.

Does disabling the awd to rwd actually have the same driving dynamics as a rwd? There's extra weight from the transfer case and other components.

I'll tell you what - the car turns waay better & my MPG went way up running rwd.

As far as gaining a bunch of HP, not so sure about that.

Perhaps I have misunderstood. I thought the rear transfer case output was the troublesome one on F30.

If anyone has the pre email login version, do not update it unless you absolutely have to.

They now require an internet connection to authorize the app every couple weeks. Meaning if you have any trouble with google play, login problems or no cell reception, you will not be able to re-flash when needed. Also disable any ability for the app to auto update.

They have also blocked older APKs from initializing so once you update, you're SOL.

Incredibly stupid.
