Mine did an over the air update to 2019-1 GB/IRE only now after seeing this my DL manager is saying 2019-1 for me. Just again proves how badly BMW have their Connected drive servers and system in place. To think how much of a game changer Idrive is they really have fucked it on the paid for service side and also ongoing software updates/tweeks & firmwares

I find this very strange but it is consistent with what I'm seeing. I've not yet had an OTA update to 2019-01 GB/IRE and so the download manger is still only offering me 2018-4. (NBT Europe EVO)

There should be no randomisation we are all paying customers & are paying for exactly the the same services. BMW have got this so wrong on something that should be straight forward in this day and age especially on a premium subscription service.

Yes they are these are the USB updates go to the connected drive store and click on the map update but it will tell you about download manager and gives a link to then download and install to your pc.

install and login with your connected drive login and password it will bring up your car and available map updates.

Have a 64gb pen drive formatted to fat32 (the maps don't exceed 32gb but a 32gb drive is not 32gb of clear memory so it's not accepted)

Once it is downloaded the map file will verify on completion it asks to save it to a usb drive save to your own drive and then transfer to the car.

Plug it in in the usb in the centre armrest go to your nav screen on the idrive press the option button and it will bring up the option screen select software update and then ok and it will update from your maps from the usb

Nite the instructions above are from memory but there's full how to on the connected drive site and there's a bmw YouTube vid of it

Just installing to the car now it read the usb straight away asking to update so no need to go through menus

Im sure it had to be fat32 for the files to transfer as the system does not recognise ntfs

Edit: just checked on the download manager and ntfs is a non supported file format it has to be fat 32 see the attached FAQ saying this
