For the 07.14 unit, I don't have a TCB. Is that going to cause some issues if it's retrofit?

I'm currently in the process of buying the actual vehicle attached to the 06.15 head unit, if I replace with the 07.14 ENTRYNAV, does that just mean I'll lose access to ConnectedDrive functionality minus BMW Apps?

I was wondering if it's possible to migrate the other lot of FSC certs over to the 07.14 unit - but I believe you can't mix and match

You can Have 6NR BMW Apps with ENTRYNAV. You are not going to working Telematics (e.g. 6AK Connected Drive Services) with retrofitted TCB, unless TCB has active Telematic Subscriptions, ENTRYNAV uses same VIN as Donor TCB and an Emualtor for Activation.

Question

Morning fellows, I have finally made the jump and went from a 2011 F10 (CIC) to a gorgeous 2016 F11 with NBT (Large screen, new controller).

I have dipped my toes in the coding waters, got my self one of them Wi-Fi adaptors and got Bimmercode purchased, I've done a couple of things on it already and it seems simple enough. I 'm now looking to do a bit more.

The CIC I had before used to show me texts from my iPhone (it had the "Office" menu on it) and it was quite the handy feature. My new one doesn't.

Also, while I see the Connected Drive menu on it, I don't see Apps in it. My brother has a 2014 F10 (525D) and that one has Apps, Office, etc... Also, his Connected app on the iPhone itself has a few more features than mine, for instance he gets to see the fuel level, current miles and remaining range of his car, I don't.

I've done some extensive reading up and it seems I don't have EBT (which I did in my old CIC F10) and that's why I don't see texts. Also seems I don't have the Apps pack (??).

Are these things able to be enabled via coding with BimmerCode? Sorry, if I'm asking too much please feel free to tell me go do more reading! I just seem to have hit mi limit here... I stumbled upon this post and it seems you guy have a resident Yoda (shawnsheridan)

I can post both VIN endings here if it helps?

Thanks in advanced for any help guys!! I'm not strange to trying things on my cars / motorcycles, but I rather have some peer review before I break something hahaha

If you have NBT, you can VO Code HU_NBT for 6NS to EBT.

BMW Apps needs a 9C FSC Code and 6NR Coding. PM sent.

That was a quick response! Thanks very much!

For the EBT coding, I have an NBT head unit, but I don't have E-Sys or the cable, I only have the Wi-Fi adaptor and BimmerCode, I've done some coding in expert mode, but as far as I know you can't do VO coding through BimmerCode, any idea if 6NS can be done using expert mode in BimmerCode?

Thanks again!!

No idea. I only use E-Sys myself.

Hi Shawn!
I have changed my head unit which is ENTRY CB to one which is the same but after I mounted the other everything worked but not bluetooth.
My question must be the new head unit coded and how should I do?
I have e-net cable and e-sys that you have sent to me and I'm very grateful for your help, best Shawn.

You need to import your original FSC Codes into replacement head unit, such as these:

AppID 129 (81) - Media Player (USB)
AppID 130 (82) - Telephone (Bluetooth)

You also need to VO Code HU_ENTRY to a;lign it to your car.

Im a beginner in this programme and I cant find myself around in it. My question is if someone in the forum can remotely access my programme, and install and code my new head unit. I have both the cable and the programe, but I lack the know-how. Im willing to pay for the effort put into this. My head unit doesn't have a navigation, only bluetooth for calls, no media!
I would be very grateful.

Best Regards

2014 F31 with ProNav

Hi Guys,
Been reading this thread from the first page, I was bought hear after seeing the 399USD charge form Bimmertech to code this!! If I have understood well to get apps for my specific car with a build date 08/14. I need to activate 6NR option and i also need a 9 character FSC code generated from my VIN.

How hard is this to do, I'm fairly tech savvy always done the USB map updates etc myself.

I understand I need an OBD cable and E-sys, I currently have a macbook so I imagine i will need a windows laptop... or is there a coding specialist in the UK that would perform this for a reasonable price?

Any advice would be great.

Cheers

The bulk of the cost for BMW Apps is the official OEM 9C FSC Code itself, not the Coding of 6NR. The 9C FSC Code is not a 20 Digit Alphanumeric Code that can can be generated simply like an Map FSC Code can, rather it is an actually a digital file signed by BMW AG. PM sent.

Hi guys. I own an F25 with CIC and Combox from the factory. While doing some random coding, I've noticed that I have 9C FSC accepted but not available.

Quote:
----------
AppID 156(0x9C)
UpgradeIndex 1(0x01)
SWTType SWTclassic full
FSCStatus not available
FSCCertStatus accepted
----------
Does this mean that I can just write 6NR to my car's VO, VO code HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA and I'll have the apps?

I wonder would the apps work via Bluetooth tethered internet connection? My vehicle was imported from the US to Europe so BMW Teleservices are useless now.

If Bluetooth tether wouldn't work, would it work via USB connected Android / iPhone device?

VIN: L981521

You do not have 9C FSC Code. It shows Status = "Not Available", and VIN L981521 does not have one issued by BMW AG.

Apps with CIC / Combox is only possible via USB Cable, and there is no Android support.
