What methanol set-ups are you running?

Interested to find out what kind of methanol set-ups people are running.

What have experiences been like with JB4 + BMS meth kit, AEM?

Bms 3.5 gal stealth tank with HPC meth controller on a custom flash tune from Mission Performance. I had the jb4 before and it was controlling meth but I got rid of it when I switched over to a flash

The controller is the only interesting thing about a meth setup. It determines how you can do safety functions and you injection pattern.

The BMS has a lot going for it because it run off the OBD so you dont have to add any extra sensors or tap into the original wiring harness. However, it only run with the JB4 so an expensive option.

Something to read about the Torqbyte CM5-LT here:

Founder of BM3 and my local BMW mechanic both recommended Torqbyte and I had never heard of it. With those 2 endorsements, I'll probably use that as my controller when I go meth.

It is complicated to setup and you need to make your own wiring harness for it. But once done it work well.

Are you on a flash tune? If so, which one and how is the drivability?

My car didn't feel good at all on just the jb4 alone. But I'm willing to use it as a controller. Im currently on BM3 stage 2 e30

Pure turbo, MHD custom BEF by Terry + JB4, 100% meth, dp, and intake

JB4 alone didn't feel so nice on majority of the B58 and it's not the JB4 it was the actually restricted DME. Back end flash obviously cleared all those issues and I don't see why you can't use JB4 only to control meth with your Bm3.

With the JB4 you can run it in flash tune only mode so it only acts as a meth controller, or you can set it up to only act as a meth controller and a basic safety if meth stops flowing, which is the best way to do it. Something torkbyte and the other manually wired up controllers can't really do properly.

There is soon to be a new product on the streets just FYI for meth kit from Twisted Tuning. You may want to wait a little more until they release it. They have had wonders with their port injection kit on the N5+ guys

I'm at 55 right now...hit 25.3lbs of boost last night. Probably a bit aggressive for daily, but we'll try it for the Dyno.

Yeah I was hitting 25 psi on my PS2's but on stock that is pretty impressive/aggressive. But hey congrats on pulling that much boost out of a stock turbo & meth. Can't wait to see the numbers

I can honestly say it's probably 445AWHP / 500AWTQ. Maybe slightly lower. Dyno and the car didn't totally get along.

MHD BEF (JB4 Race)
JB4 + WMI
XHP Stage 3
BMS Intake
FTP Inlet and Charge Piping
CG DS-1 Catted Downpipe
AWE Exhaust
VP Racing M1 Methanol

Damn crazy torque numbers, but your hp seems low. Is that because of the car and dyno not playing nice together?

Yeap...those massively high numbers are also spikes. It wasn't a linked AWD Dyno, but shouldn't have mattered because the drums were within 1MPH of each other. I honestly don't know what was with the pulsating in the chart, but I was done diagnosing it. I'm going to make some 1/4 mile runs next.

I see some of these insanely smooth Dyno charts, they are like a work of art...look at these ones from WedgePerformance https://www.wedgeperformanceracing.c...ate-p141175285

I'm back! This was a quick first try, nothing special. I got Dragy video too. 11.40's!...roasts the tires on launch in 2nd gear, I don't even bother with first gear anymore, so that fixed my 1->2 shift problem. I just did M2 to 3000RPM, let it rip, slap the shifter to D and back to S mode so it nails the 2->3 shift and 3->4 shift.

2000' DA. Can't wait to get to a proper track prep in October in IL. I think the car can go deeper into the 11's.
