Fog light bulb upgrade
As anyone upgraded the fog light bulb on their GT? I don't feel like the current ones are giving much improved visibility when turned on. Looking for suggestions!

Assuming you have halogen there is no upgrade halogen bulb. 35 watts is 35 watts. You need to go to LED for a real improvement. My experience:

As said above, get a nice pair ($20) of LED fogs on eBay or Amazon and you'll be loving life. May as well switch all lights to LED if you are halogen (like the rest of us).
Very simple to do and a huge upgrade in appearance and utility. You may need to buy BimmerCode and a OBD dongle for the coding aspect. Simple and inexpensive as well. |

I choose a 5000k bulb to get a closer match to the osram cbb 7000k bulbs I installed. Getting better cooler kind of defeats the purpose of a fog light, I went with looks.

Going with a tinted halogen bulb for a higher temperature light doesn't make it brighter, no more than wearing sunglasses makes your vision brighter. A tinted bulb envelope reduces the lux output of the bulb, and worse, our vision is less sensitive to higher temperature light.

I was hoping for suggestion of models of Led bulbs that the members have purchase instead of Amazon reviews from non-BMW owners. I also see that some bulbs are a lot more powerful than others, obviously at a price... but interested to know how powerful you can go. There are a lot of H8 options in there and also looking at the fit for LEDs with fans.

You might consider Osram Nightbreakers. Nothing needed to be coded just directly can be replaced..
Whiter and brighter. https://www.osram.com/am/campaigns/nightbreaker.jsp |

Whiter maybe, but not any brighter. For that they'd have to be higher wattage. Read the fine print: These headlight lamps shine up to 150% brighter compared to the minimum legal standard. They're still only 1500 lumen bulbs. LED run two to three times that.
