My B58 MPPSK dyno numbers

Went to the dyno today to lay down some numbers. Dyno was a dynojet and my car is a stock b58 with the mppsk tune running through the 8 speed auto. Car was running on California’s finest 91 octane “premium” but anyway. My best numbers were 331 rwhp and 380 rwtq. The horsepower number was right about where I thought it’d be but my torque number was a surprise. The midrange on these engines is que fuerte! Dyno graph attached. Now the question.....do I mod?

well you asked the question so....with the numbers a Mission Performance tune is producing I would suggest a simple engine and trans flash to push you deep into the 400++ range

Thank you for doing this! The torque figure is certainly impressive, however I'm actually surprised by the horsepower figure. I was expecting somewhere in the mid 340's to the wheels. Not a huge difference, but likely do to our crummy 91 octane fuel here in socal...

Dynojet shows more wheel torque than claimed by BMW. It's also lower which I can confirm. The 8AT should downshift sooner or unlock the torque converter more often like the B48 I feel myself shifting manually more often.

I find that I use the manual shift as well to downshift one cog more often than on previous auto box/engine combos. I do this when I'm not really needing to press on and use kickdown (which usually drops two or more cogs)
A bit annoying but the only downside of the B58 with MPPSK I've found so far

Thanks for sharing the dyno results. Very cool that you have a baseline now for future comparisons.

Looking forward to seeing some mods and another dyno post!
