Question Where are all the 2019 deals??

My F31 340i PCP runs out beginning of March and I am considering my options. I was hoping there would be some epic 0% F31 deals similar to the 4 series deals last December especially since there is the G20 coming soon but I can see none.

In 2016 the total invoice price was £30.5k (~30% discount) plus 5 years servicing; I and am looking at £35k+ for the same car today plus the extra £350 per year road tax.

Despite the few issues I have had (some if which are still present, I cannot think of anything that comes close for the money so I am thinking about paying the final payment (~£18.5k) and keeping it until the G21 M340i comes out (and is discounted sufficiently)....will definitely need the extended warranty though.

Wow you got some good deal back then...
My 440 GC with options invoiced around £41K after discount (~23% discount).

If I wanted one now I would not be getting an F31 with the G so close.
It would be either the 4GC or wait for G21...
You could always contact BMW finance and ask to extend the PCP for a further 6 months...

I did consider the GC but it was too cramped for my Golden Retriever and I have all the accessories (roof bars, dog guard, boot tidy etc) for the F31. I do like the look of the GC though.

I changed jobs midway through my PCP and am mahoosively over my mileage allowance meaning BMW finance will basically shaft me if I extend.

No idea why you would swap a 2016 340i f31 into another f31. If you still like the car it's about to become very cheap to own so keep it. Either refinance or pay balloon. The 440 will feel just as dated at the current 340 when the g20 comes along.

Either that or maybe look at other brands or models. X3 or 5 series maybe?

And this, my friends, is the elephant in the room re-new car sales decline. Brexit uncertainty? Probably. Dieselgate, yes but no, wouldn't you expect diesel owners to just switch to petrol/hybrid/elec. More likely, the reason/rationale is as well as higher monthly fuel cost, the £20/30 road tax has now become £450 a year, if extras take you over £40k retail. Thank you Mr Osborne.
Despite "the few issues" it's a fine car so I'll keep it a bit longer. No??

That's got to be a keeper for a bit longer. You'll make good money selling it privately once the M340i becomes available and you will have had four+ years of very reasonably priced motoring given your cracking up front discount

Glad I'm not looking for a new car now. The current interest rates are rubbish, 4.9% pretty much across the board, with the only 0% exception being the 7 Series.

Don't think they'll change too soon, as I understand it BMW set the rates quarterly, so no change for nearly 3 months.

Not exactly the best way to boost January car sales. Maybe the December offers filled the production lines already for the next couple of months.

There is nothing that I have seen around, maybe the previous 4 series offer blew the budget......Cant say i'm complaining with my shiny new 430d

I understand there are very few , if any , new F31’s left at the dealers so you will be very lucky to find one.

i think they had some F3x deals going nov/dec and even 0% interest (although its not always works out to be the best deal) but BREXIT now everyone hits the breaks (If you'll pardon the pun) and freezes to see what happens, the uncertainty!

That's what the salesman try and say, that the discounts reduce when they're at low APR, or zero, or the GFV lowers and the monthlies stay the same whatever the APR.

It isn't true though, the last few times the total discount has stayed exactly the same, no movement on GFV, and monthlies were genuinely cheaper. Sometimes they really are just cheaper than at other times. I can understand why a salesman would say otherwise, they've still got to sell cars.

Thanks for posting OP. I'm wondering about doing the same with my F31 340i, which I have on a 3-year PCP that runs out in September. Thanks to the depreciation, the final payment doesn't look too eye-watering, but I'm moving house and will be a bit short of funds come September.

I hadn't thought of extending the PCP period - does anyone have experience of this?

I emailed BMWFS yesterday asking to extend my PCP past July. Will let you know what they come back with.

This is why I jumped on the 440i before Xmas when the deals were so good. There was a lot of debate about how 2019 might see the F cars even cheaper but with Brexit tanking the UK as a whole, BMW seem to be holding firm right now.

Personally I would hold onto that car for a while yet, it's a cracking engine!

Yes, I'm sure there was a chap on your thread that was telling us all that Q1 deals would be better (although we were still certifiable for buying new, for not paying cash and for even considering gutless 40is over the ultimate - diesel convertibles). There is almost zero chance that I can remember his name though

Many of them went early back end of last year. In October 2018, I was contacted by Shitner Tamworth with an offer on the new 3. In fact even before the new 5 was in showrooms, Shitner Maidenhead had somehow managed to acquire a stock of 17 highly specified ones. I thought I would return to the fold in late December 2018 but all the zero per cent APR and no to minimal deposit offers on 3 had gone! Replaced by some jacked up offers instead.

I get a reasonable company car allowance which I prefer to use to ‘lease’ my cars. If there were deals available, such as 0% finance then financially it would make more sense to get a new F31.

I have looked at other cars but keep coming back to the F31 as it just nails what I use / need my car for

So, got the following email from BMWFS for those interested in extending their PCP:

"If you were looking to purchase a new vehicle on finance, with us being your finance company i.e. MINI/BMW financial services we could potentially extend you agreement up to 6 months. However if you’re not looking to purchase a new vehicle we will not be able to extend the agreement."

I agree Minty 2019 deals do look rather terrible currently. Only decent offers I have seen are X3s.

Like a lot of things a certain March event will drive how good/bad things get for consumers

I must admit I'm not normally a 'run out model' kinda guy. Always drawn to the shiny and new, which at least I can admit.

However in this instance I'm loving the relative bargain I bagged for an end of life car and also with all the right noise polluting options present before Eurocrats stop the fun.

Offers on the current cars will always come of course, companies need sales and were lucky its a very competitive market.
