SF Bay Area Shop Recomendation
Looking to get coil overs installed on my 340i, anyone got a shop they recommend that isn't charging outrageous prices? Don't mind driving a bit further out if the costs makes sense.

A lot of choices...
As a BMW CCA member (20 years), I'd lean toward one of the club friendly shops like Edge Motorworks in Mountain View, Pete's Automotive in SF, Auto Analysts in Castro Valley. The club puts out a shop guide here - https://s19711.pcdn.co/wp-content/up...2018-Final.pdf . >> See page 21.
They would most likely not just do the install, but *ASK* you how you want the car to handle, driving habits, styles, etc. and may even suggest an alignment. The idea here is that you spent some good money to *improve* the handling of your car right? So why not have a BMW only shop do the work? Average club shop prices is about $150/hour. Coils are about 1 hour a corner or 4 hours. Pretty much all the club shops (and dealers too) will knock 10% of labor too boot if you are a BMW CCA member. |

In addition to Edge Motorworks MV that percychow recommended I also recommend VT Motorworks in Pleasanton. I was comforted by how much Matt there knew when I was trying to figure out a shop a bit closer to me to have some work done (I usually go to Edge MV). I was pleased with their work and how detailed they were in setting the alignment to my specifications.

$120/hr is better than what the Mazda shops were charging me when I had my Speed3. They were at $160/hr! Nice to hear that there are some good shop nearby for when I start putting stuff on my 335 GT. |
