UPDATE:
My apologies, I am looking at a number of cars and the original two were stated with their mileage. I have since found a couple of others.

I drove a 335 today with M package and... holy fuck, it was SO fun. Seemed like I'd hit the gas and I was doing 65 on a 35MPH road in like a second! Might need a slush fund just for speeding tickets!

The cars I am currently looking at are both 2015 335i x-drives with identical M packages pretty well loaded. One has the 19" upgrade wheels which are lovely but not a deal maker/breaker for me. That car has 23K on it and they want $30K and unwilling to move. It is with a small Euro specialty shop that has a good reputation. The other has 40K on it with the standard 18" M package wheels and is $24K at an authorized BMW dealer with a good reputation as well.

328 for efficiency

Id probably go for the 328 for the amount of driving you do!

This is actually a legitimate fear of mine if I get a 6 cylinder BMW in the future. Even my 328i in Sport mode gets to near illegal speeds very quickly. I very regularly wish we had something like the autobahn here so that we could truly enjoy these cars. But then I see how people drive here, and that thought quickly vanishes.

19" result in a harsher/firmer ride than the 18" is what I have heard. Consider that. With a $6k difference, I would just go for the one with 40K on it. You will still have 10k miles of warranty left, which is enough to take care of any major issues if they crop up.

There's nothing like an in-line 6! I would go for 18s and non x drive if that is an option

Speeding tickets are simply a cost of ownership...like gas, maintenance, and chargepipe replacements, just build into your budget and drive.

The one w 18" wheels will be a bit more practical. Get that and take half of the money you saved and spring for CPO through 100k.

Apparently you didn't read post #35. Or post #30. Or post #24. Or post #14.

Truth is, they're both fine cars. Drive 'em both and then decide. I've driven a 328, but I prefer my 335 (especially with the tune that's on it).

Out of these two cars, I'd get the 335i with the 19" wheels and only 23k on the clock. You'll pay 6k more or whatever for it but it's got only 23k on it vs the other car that has 40k.

I have 19" wheels on mine and drive on some bad roads, and they're a little more bumpy, but it's not that bad. You'll get used to it quickly. These are sport sedans too, so you have to allow for a somewhat stiff ride.

What constitutes fast? My 328 with JB+ does 0-60 in about 5 sec flat and puts down close to 250HP/300Tq at the wheels. Some of the fastest cars on the road are high 3 sec, low 4's. You're talking about a second difference. Its like one poster said, at some point, what does it matter. I see 911's and M3's plodding along in traffic all day long with the rest of us, just burning gas and going 10 mph. Occasionally they get an onramp blast or if they really want to go for it, a speeding ticket. Whats the point? Oh know thats like 'car guy' blasphemy but really, a commuter street car that does 0-60 in 5 seconds is plenty of fast in our country.

OP, I would get the 328 and save your money. Statistically the n20 has been a little more reliable and for $200 you can get JB+ which puts down close to 335 stock power. You'll get better MPG, a lighter car, pay less for insurance and registration but the drawback is exhaust. Active sound makes the car sound fine in the cabin but outside, the exhaust is like an accord... M Sport exhaust is an axle back system that sounds great though and can be had for like $800+ install.

LOL, seriously. Yeah, I'm sure that 335 gets high 20s in the city. I call bs. No matter how conservatively I drive my 328i in the city, the best I can ever get is like 21 or 22. If its night time and Im making all green lights, ok, maybe 24. I get 33-35 highway. If I am inching along in LA traffic stop and go, I get like 16mpg.

No possible way a 335 is getting high 20's city. Maybe highway. Heavier car, larger displacement engine, no possible way.
