Just picked up the 2018 model of this M Performance Edition at a nice discount (end of F30 model run). Mine is Sunset Orange, and I am very impressed so far (but only several days old). Came from a 2016 340i xDrive and I swear I can feel the difference. The MPE is quicker, and feels lighter. Very fun.
Placebo. Its the same B58 with MPPSK. If you didn't have the MPPSK on your 2016, then yes, its noticeable.

Partly true, and I did not have the MPPSK on my 2016. However, the MPEdtn is slightly lighter, and has a lot more add-ons than the base 340 + MPPSK.

Regardless of your opinion, I am enjoying this car. Cheers.

Enjoy your car, it looks great. I'm confused by the statement that it's lighter than a regular 340i though. M performance edition is a cosmetic package, what makes you say it's lighter?

Did you have the adaptive m suspension on your old 340?

There is no noticeable difference in weight between the MPE vs non MPE version of the B58. I weighted both of my buddies 340xi (one Msport, other one M performance) and the MPE showed a 5lbs less difference which is negligible.

Either way xDrive are very heavy anyways and to shave weight takes alot of work. (3800lbs, full tank no driver)

Guess I'll have to admit I was wrong on the weight thing, five pounds is negligible. The "faster" feel must be due to MPPSK solely, fine with me.

For the Canadian members - does anyone have the stats on the colors and number of cars in each color for the 2018 340i xDrive M Perf Editions? I know there is Alpine White, Sunset Orange, Tanzanite Blue, another blue (Snapper Rocks?) and what else. I think each color is limited to 50 only (except the AW and there must be a Black as well). Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Got the info from my dealer SA. The 2018 model of the 340i xDrive MPE was limited to 200 cars for Canada. The colors are (50 of each): Alpine White, Sunset Orange, Tanzanite Blue, and Leguna Seca Blue.

I've had my 2018 340i M Perf Edition for 6 weeks. Came from a 2017 Golf R. I love this car. The driving experience is awesome. Bought it from Langley BMW...in BC. I have Tanzanite blue.

For those looking for deets...I posted a BMW product planning bulletin concerning the 2018 M Perf Edition 340i.

No, he said it is Tanzanite Blue as it is (there is one here at the dealers). There are only four colors for the 2018 model of the MPEdition.

I just picked up my 340 m performance edition 2 weeks ago. Got 8000 discount with 73150 MSRP, not sure if that was a good deal or not.

Sounds about right, 7% off MSRP + 3000 incentive. Though if I recall, there was an extra 1000 incentive on 3ers 2 weeks ago during their 3 day sale.

Hey guys I have 2 questions for people with these models as I have concern about 2 things. How have the wheels been and have many of you bent them/destroyed tires with them? The other question is for individuals with Fashion Grey and if they have had any body work done? Just concerned for paint repairs and matching with that colour (fingers crossed wont need any but never know)?

I've only had the 20"ers on the M Perf Edition since early last Aug but zero problems and issues so far. These 20's don't seem much different for ride than the 19"ers I had on my previous 2016 340. I now have 18" winter wheels on the car, and that is also fine.

When I had mine delivered there were some minor paint chips from transport. They had them fixed at no charge and the match was perfect. If you have an official Bmw model with fashion grey they get the actual paint code from Porsche (Thats what I was told anyways) and can match it perfectly. If you painted your car fashion grey not from the factory it will be impossible.

The 20s look great but they are definitely a little rough on the road. I have to be super careful of pot holes because when I hit one it sounds painful. If you take care when driving they are great. I use 18 winter and they work well.
