Muffler Delete vs Resonator Delete anyone in SoCal?

Anyone with a B58 with either a muffler or resonator delete? Where did you get it done and how much did you pay?

I have a f30 n55, at first I just had a resonator delete and it sounded a little more aggressive and no drone that I can remember, then I had a muffler delete and I had drone like 2k and up, I didn’t have the resonator so the guy welded a j pipe and it seemed to help, in all I’m pretty happy, I drive a lot faster just so I can hear it roar and pop lol, so less gas mileage. It still has drone but I asked my ex if it bothered her and she said no, every chick I have in the car sAys they don’t notice, so that’s good enough for me. Sounds so good in tunnels

No I’m a muffler and resonator delete I honestly couldn’t tell you how much the j-pipe makes a difference but I’m thinking with res on it would be less droney, I paid like 150 I think with different tips

I cut off both resonators in the oem midpipe before I went with a Dinan midpipe.
80 bucks at Mufflers R Us in Torrance.

Also, I would keep the muffler intact for the valves. Just my 2 cents.

LA Mufflers in Van Nuys. They installed my catless downpipe and eliminated the resonators. Took them less than 30 min. they work fast and are open on Saturdays. Total was 130 i think for the install of DP and resonator delete.

What do you mean including OEM mid pipe??

$50dlls was to basically remove both resonators and weld a pipe in place, he did two cuts basically removing both resonators as one piece and welding a pipe in it's place

Lolol pardon what I said as I'm getting real confused.
I'm under the impression that one resonator is in the middle and the other near the muffler. And this entire section is the midpipe.
The process of resonator delete is removing the resonators and welding straight pipes into the part where resonators were removed. Not the entire pipe with the two resonators right?
My guess is I was quoted on removing the entire section and replacing with a straight pipe.

Hello
okay so my Son goes to SDSU and we spend a lot of time in SD - however we live in Huntington Beach.

That said while it is a bit of a drive for you I can't recommend more highly BRO Muffler in Huntington Beach. A real BMW local go to shop for resonator delete, muffler delete or just adding tips to what you have (you need to bring your own) . While it is a drive for people out of the area - it's also a long term investment so might be worth your time

It's a small unassuming shop but Steve the owner has an eye for detail and delivers 100% of the time.

Hope this helps

oops sorry just saw this - Steve is a great guy to work with - whether you are having resonators deleted or added back (for whatever reason) / many many people here have gone there for / work is spot on and price is reasonable (sorry forgot how much) / I have recommended him to family, friends and strangers from the board here

Hope this helps
