charge pipe quality B48?

Hi,

Next year in march my car gets a stage 2 upgrade.
I'm going to put a catless downpipe together with a custum tune.
Now I was wondering, is the charge pipe of the b48 strong enough for stage 2 + are there advantages when placing an aftermarket one?
I know those from the n55 were pretty weak, hence this question.

Grts,
Steven

Pretty sure charge pipe failures are only an issue with the N55. Its a really poorly designed plastic charge pipe that breaks right at the 90 degree bend towards the throttle body. Often breaks under stock boost pressures because of vibration issues at that spot. Tuned higher boost pressures just aggravate and amplify the problem.

I always recommend upgrading the charge pipe when tuning your car.
the CP quality is good enough with stock power, but it will eventually fail with high boost.

It might not happen as fast as the N55, but there is no reason to risk it

Im driving a 2016 330i. Currently running on BM3 Stage 2 AGG map.. Got the charge pipe and intake pipe changed for precautions rather than waiting it to break. Can try looking for FTP pipes.
