great render. If they can maintain same shape same tails... the GC will be great as a sport back. Sell much cheaper than the wonderful A7/S7.

That side rendering looks terrific, hope the production version doesn't deviate too much from that rendering. Also wish that BMW will make that led headlight from the 4 concept coupe into production as an option at least for those that love the look of it, I certainly do.

I'm very excited not only for the 4GC but also the upcoming X4. The exterior design of this concept has me thrilled about future of the BMW language. I hope it translates into production very well.
When my Z4 lease is up in 2014, I know there are going to be some good choices not only from BMW but also from other manuffacturers as well. Hopefully the automobile industry will keep this momentum forward. |

Comparing the 6 & 7 series is wrong because they are in completely different classes. The 6 series is a sports car, while the 7 is a large sedan. I believe the 4 Series GC will have a negative impact on the brand, watering down the 3 series and cannibalizing sales on both the 3 & 5. |

I don't believe BMW will use a 3rd window at the C-pillar for the GC. It is not traditional BMW (Like someone said that's Audi) and it doesn't fit a BMW(only SAVs, Tourings and GTs). I believe the roofline will follow that of 6GC with the clever trick of a thinner outside C-pillar and thicker inside (covered in some sort of material) like the GC creating the allusion of a very thin C-pillar. No chance in hell for a 3rd window imo.

Well you are technically right but you know what I mean. This "3rd" window will always be part of the door unless its an SAV, GT or Touring. In the new renderings we actually see 4 windows, 3 as part of the doors and 1 as part of the C-pillar. That's not BMW, that's Audi so I see no chance of this happening.

While I'm not a fan of the original render's long wheelbase, the new render's shorter wheelbase comes at the expense of those elegant trunk proportions. Now the render makes the car look like a sport back, which I wouldn't be too fond of.
At any rate, it'll be a few more months before BMW unveils this car officially. Looking forward to it.

All these Gran Coupes are hot, but I just wonder if the same thing will happen as the reveal of the 4 series coupe concept. :3

Of course it will, but the 4GC will bring in much more profit per car than the 3er. As for Audi I don't know why the don't sell the A5 Sportback. But I have a suspicion that will change when the 4GC is introduced.
