Caliper Colors

Hello everyone!

I am considering painting my calipers and would like to know if anyone has any color advice, recommendations and/or pictures to help guide my decision!

While upgrading to the M Performance brakes would be nice, I simply don't need that level of capacity and, well... I drive a 328i.

I have a 2016 Glacier Silver Metallic F30 with the M Sport package. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this means I have the slightly upgraded 335i brakes (P337A- a 4-piston grey Brembo caliper on a 340mm front rotor) for my 328i. I have stock 18" aluminum wheels but any future upgrades will probably be aluminum or silver option, such as the HRE FF01.

I took these pictures this morning so hopefully this helps. I love the crisp silver and black theme I am running, so any consideration for caliper colors? Thanks!

Would really appreciate the help!!

Going to be running black Vorensteiners vff 103 soon, hence why i would rather go with a subtle color since my focus will be on the rims. Red calipers take away from the rim imo.

I painted my calipers, and rotor hubs, the original silver color, retouching them yearly when I rotate the tires. I use Plastikote caliper paint. This is one of the rears: https://billfitzmaurice.info/images/BMW/Rear Wheel.jpg

I'd paint them either silver or black and use a brake caliper paint like G2.

I was thinking about black. It would be a subtle approach. I would definitely want to upgrade rotors sooner if I choose black, allowing them to stand out a bit more. Thanks!

I didn't think about that. Thanks for the tip!

I'm an OEM look type of guy so I'd go with a bright silver personally, I think black would just look like a shadow behind the wheels.

I was originally thinking a bright/cyan blue, identical to the color on the BMW logo. I feel like it would stand out similar to yellow.

However, I've seen some pictures of the cyan blue calipers hanging to dry and it cools really weird. I haven't (but want to) see some photos of what that caliper color looks like on rotors and behind a wheel.

That sounds good I also like the m sport/perf blue so I'm sure that would look just as good.

I have same color car. I went lollipop red with a touch of sunset orange. Granted, I powder coated mine.

Those look good though! Great touch to the red interior. Swap those blue emblems with black and white carbon ones and it'll tie her together mate. Are those TLG mud flaps?

Durability, but sometimes the thickness of the paint can result in chipping. You need to disassemble the calipers to bake/cure the powder, but not necessary if you use a spray or brush-on paint product.

Thanks man. I bought the CF center caps from the vendor on these forums but they are 68mm instead of the 65mm my rep wheels require, so I just need to find the time to transfer them to 65mm caps. And yeah, the mud flaps are from Tommy garage. They blend in nicely and are extremely functional. Car no longer gets crud flown up all over the side.

Powder coating is more durable than paint. And you can choose from a million different colors & combinations. Mine actually change color depending on how much sun is hitting them; from a sunset orange to a candy red look. Not sure if paint could capture the same effect.
