Hello guys. I need your help about 328i f30

Hey guys, I was cleaning my car's engine bay and found this rubber tube, Do you know what this tube is? I went to a local auto shop a week ago to get a maintenance and basic inspection, and this was the first hood open after went to the auto shop. I have no idea about this line. Please help me.

This what mine looks like. The hose goes under the cover and connects as shown on second picture. Hope it helps.

That hose connects to the open nipple on the drivers side of the airbox.

Be careful, that plastic is silly brittle and will break.

For those out there, what is that system on the other end of the hose. The palm sized black disk?

Thank you so much for answering. From the cover side looks ok. I need to know where the hose is supposed to attach to the opposite side.
Thank you in advance.

My car has never moded before. It would be stock part of f30. Sorry for not being helpful.

Same thing happened to me. I’m not sure what it links up to under the cover. But the end that got disconnected is to a nipple on the air box. Super easy to break off. Have you recently had your air filter replaced? Might’ve been torn off when the cover was taken off to replace filter inside. It’s an evap hose from what I’ve been told. May set a CEL light but would take a while. You now have unfiltered and unmetered air being sucked into engine as long as it’s disconnected like that. Not a lot, but should be fixed. This is what I was told by my Indy BMW mechanic. I’m a girl who doesn’t know as much as a lot of posters here but hope it helps. Also, if the plastic nipple broke off (which I’m sure it did) the only real fix is replacing the whole air filter housing. The part itself is around $200-300 new, but maybe you could find cheaper used or on eBay, idk.
