340i loaner pricing question

Hey Folks,
hope you can help me with some questions. I am looking at 2018 retired loaner 340i with 10k miles, 60k msrp marked at $45k. i want to understand how much dealer will be willing to negotiate further and are there any BMW incentives i can stack up on these CPO car which is technically dealer owned? I have not gone through this process so really appreciate your help.

thanks!

In the current climate you can definitely negotiate that, used cars aren't exactly flying off the lot. I think 45k is a tad too much even in a pre corona environment. Ask them to go under 40k or walk, plenty of off lease F30s entering the market daily...Don't rush (I did and over paid, a couple of months after I purchased there were better spec'd cars available with CPO for less than I paid)

For 45k, I would just wait and get a g20 when they start hitting the used market. Unless you are looking for a manual.

Every dealer is different as to "how much" they are willing to negotiate. You'll find out pretty quick. BMW corporate level incentives should be pretty easy to find with a Google search. Probably even right on every dealer's website--most likely is a favorable loan rate. They offered .9% financing at the time I bought my CPO in '15.

Thanks! Is 0.9% helpful..do they charge any fees that would make it useless?

I brought my exec demo MY2016 in 2016 with 20 miles on it for $45k. So a 2018 in 2020 should go for less than this with 10k miles.

Wow..this is great to know. I am surprised this dealer is still keeping so high price for 2018 model with g20 out.
Btw I also getting used one with track package but not executive package.mis it worth that much..i really like heads up and led etc in that package.

I would negotiate for a lower price or shop CPO at other dealers. Used 340 should not go for that much should be closer to $28-30k.

First 2 years depreciation is the worst. It levels off after 3-5 years. You lose a huge chunk just driving a new car off the lot. As much as half the value in a couple years.

Negotiate hard! I personally wouldn't pay more than 40K for it, especially with the G20 out now. Good luck!

As a point of reference......I bought my 340i in April of 2018. It was a 2017 October build (6 months old) with 3K miles. I paid 43K.
I think you can do much much better with the car you're looking at. Its $5-$10K overpriced in this market.

I purchased my 2016 340i with 10 total miles on it, in Dec 2017. The car was not even a loaner. It had a MSRP of $53K. I did have to negotiate with them. I paid $41K for it. The dealer had it listed initially for $43k

I am also in the market for a 340i with the M-sport package and I agree. The going rate seems to be closer to the $30k mark. The cars without the M sport package are below $30k I think.

There is a fully loaded CPO 2017 340i xdrive with M sport, track handling, Driver assistance, Driver Assistance Plus, Cold Weather and Lighting package listed for $36k in my area and has 19k miles . I tried to negotiate with the dealer and they weren't willing to go below $35k what do you guys think of this deal?. I walked away at the time but it looks like the car is still on sale. Thanks for the help and advice.

That's not bad for a loaded car that was maybe around $60k new. Still could be a little cheaper.

Build sheet I got from the customer advisor shows a 61,150 MSRP and March 2017 build date. I'll wait it out a little bit I am in no rush to purchase so if its still on the lot for another couple of weeks. I can probably make another lower offer lol.

If that's the MSRP the real price you would pay would be lower so yeah it should be cheaper. It won't move that fast at that price of $35k it's not an awesome deal or anything.

I am not sure where you got "The going rate seems to be closer to the $30k mark. The cars without the M sport package are below $30k I think.". It depends on the mileage. The ones i have seen for around 30K had mileage of 35K+. I dont think you are going to get one <20K miles for <35K.

Even low mileage cars aren't going to be worth anywhere near msrp as they are typically sold new for significantly less. Even with low miles it's still a 2 year old prior model car.

Also depends on your location. I see xDrive cars in the Northeast listed for higher prices with comparable miles and options. xDrive probably explains that though.

Yeah x drive not as popular here due to suspension and ride height.
