Lowering Springs Input

Hello all,

Looking to get some input on the following:

2015 335i M-Sport (RWD), ready to lower the thing and trying to decide on which suspension. I've researched the following but open to other brands. Not looking for coilovers at the moment.

H&R Super Sport Springs
SKU: 28877-2
1.6F 1.0R
$389.00 Retail
(239.97 on eBay)
($227.51 on Amazon)

Eibach Springs
“Pro Kit”
SKU: E10-20-031-02-22
1.4F 1.6R
$323.33 Retail
($288 on eBay)
($267 on Amazon)

Dinan
SKU: D100-0910
$279.95 Retail
(Universal Price)
3/4” F/R

Leaning more towards the Eibachs at the moment. Would I need any supplemental components in addition to the lowering springs? I plan on doing the install myself.

Thanks for the input!

You can reuse everything, including the shock. The shock might go bad quicker.

If you get new struts then the front install is slightly faster since you won't have to separate the old strut and spring. Getting something like Bilstein B8 dampers will likely work better with lowering springs than the stock struts and shocks.

I went through a full month of going back and forth on this decision before I made the switch to HR Super Sports. Super happy with the decision, and in fact, I wish it was lowered another 1/2 inch.

You have 18's or 19's on it right now?
What are your tire dimensions?

They are currently the stock 18" wheels, not sure of the tire size ATM, not with the car. But probably the stock OE run flat tires.

I think 18" wheels will remain the future size even if I go with an aftermarket wheel.

Ride comfort is important, but low life is important-er. Also, I come from a long line of driving slammed E39's and E46's so it cant be as bad? Or can it?

Dont get H&R Super Sports unless you want SLAMMED.

Just a word to the wise.

You're other choices are better for a more reasonable drop. Id also consider AC Schnitzer spring kit.

I put these on mine....as they are the only set offered for F33....and they are brilliant. Subtle lowering and a nice ride - better than OEM.

I have the M Sport suspension ...no impact to operation.

FYI- switch tires to 245/45-18 for both a slammed look and ride comfort. Summer Michelin PS4S tires are the absolute best!

With just a spring swap, assuming you have standard and not Adaptive suspension, the stock dampers will be destroyed quickly. The piston travel inside the shock is all wrong for dropped. Change dampers at the same to one's that are designed for big drops such as Koni Yellow Sport or Bilstein B8. If available Koni Yellows would be my choice because they are adjustable.

Hope this helps!

That looks great, thanks for sharing. Is this RIGHT after the drop or did you have some time to let the suspension settle?

Thank you for this thread. I’ve been debating on what to go with for my 2016 328i. I keep seeing its about 50/50 on replacing struts. I understand stock struts will wear out faster due to them being designed for the higher spring height.

I very rarely if ever see anything on strut replacement. Any brands to look for or avoid? If I’m doing one I’m going to do both.

Only vehicle I’ve ever lowered was a civic in the mid 2000’s.
