He's definitely a customer.
There is an Australian M-lite facebook group with a few dissatisified VRSF customers.

PM over a link and I'll be more than happy to take care of any dissatisfied customers.

We take customer service seriously at VRSF, if there's a customer who's unhappy with our products or service, they most likely haven't given us the chance to give us the opportunity to resolve the issue.

Understandable, but he's just pointing out about the down pipe not having a clamp and unless VRSF wants to roll the red carpet and ship him over a custom down pipe with a bracket which i doubt they would then maybe he should sell his VRSF and get the ER or something that has a bracket and better flex section to satisfy his concerns

No need, thanks mate.

My exhaust guy has already fabricated a clamp and bracket support for the DP.

He's seen multiple unsupported/un-bracketed DPs crack at the turbo flange.

Not sure about you, but I didn't want to take the same risk.

They are all of your Australian customers, by the way. I've been transparent with them re: our correspondence and they are all aware of your insistence of not responding to my specific technical queries.

If it were about me not getting the answer I wanted to hear, they would have told me that. But it's not - it's simply you refusing to answer the q's - particularly now re: the flex joint.

You keep saying I have an agenda.
I do not.

This is your business. I gain nothing from seeking responses from you - neither financially, personally or otherwise.

I want to share quality products with the group and spread the love. But I will only ever advocate a product that I believe in. I gave you multiple opportunities to convince me of the quality of the VRSF design.

My last email to you, sent 30 March 2019, which you had ignored, saying that you "have no skin in this game":

Quote:
Tiago

I haven't provided any opinion. I have simply stated technical facts and I have given you the opportunity to address them.

Specifically, the facts regarding the flex joint used and it's impact on the stresses to the connection point, if at all. I don't need a response saying "there will be no issues", I am asking for a technical explanation of the concepts underpinning your design decision and WHY you say it will be ok.

That is all.

You have, to date, avoided the direct questions I have asked, and provided no technical explanation or otherwise. I am not looking for a sales pitch. I want to understand the why.
I'll let others judge the appropriateness and reasonableness of my wording.

While you're entitled to your opinion, please stop playing the role of the arm-chair engineer. The reviews shared by respected members of the community, as well as multiple vendors are proof enough that our product is well engineered. We respect the fact that you have a right to support whichever brand you choose but please refrain from spreading misinformation and making baseless claims without factual evidence to back them up.

We have hundreds of satisfied customers with these downpipes installed and not once have we heard of a downpipe cracking at the turbo flange. Ever. We've been developing parts for turbocharged BMW's for a little over 10 years now and while I appreciate your concern for the community, I can say with 100% certainty that the bracket isn't necessary. If it were, we would have included one

I see that Tiago, you continue to refuse to answer the question re: the flex joint.

I have nothing more to add.

Ciao.

We should have them in stock shortly, I apologize for the production delay. We're doing our best to keep up with demand but the flurry of new product launches along with our latest relocation to Miami has slowed us a down a bit

We take our customer's feedback very seriously and constantly improve upon our existing products to make both the customer and installer experience as enjoyable as process.

We've made modifications to this pipe to now accommodate RHD vehicles as well as added a flex section that allows for a bit more movement in case customers have aftermarket exhausts that may not conform to the OEM standards

Right.

So...
- after you refused to answer my technical questions about the flex joint;
- kept referencing your team's vast and superior engineering knowledge and belittling mine;
- kept repeating that there was absolutely nothing wrong with your B58 DP...

my observations and questions actually turned out to be valid.

I see.

We've got a few dozen of these successfully installed down in Australia right now, I'm not sure what value your arm chair engineering has to offer to anyone in this community but I sincerely apologize if my comments offended you.

My intent was to simply educate, not to stir up drama

My intention wasn't to upset you and I apologize if it did.

The unit I got in May/June DID NOT fit my B58. Outlet was skewed to one side, and the flex joint (even though it looks OEM with the mesh), was 100% rigid.

With some back and forth with VSRF, they did me a solid and paid for the unit to be returned to them, and I ended up getting a full refund on the purchase. That being said, if I had paid a shop to install VSRF, remove and install OEM so I could return it, and then install alternative, I would have been LIVID.
