SOS Emergency Call Malfunction Error Issue

Hi all,

I am having some issues on CIC. The SOS Emergency Call malfunction error is persistent on the dashboard since about 2 years. At times is comes by and goes away.

I tried setting ST_ECAL_ALIVE and ST_ECAL_TIMEOUT to nicht_aktiv but the SOS malfunction error still does not go away. I added a section TELD under HO-WORD as well.

Still the Emergency call malfunction error persists. Now I feel the last hope is to vo code and remove 6AC and 6AE to disable telematics and remove the error. Will that work and if yes will it impact my bluetooth streaming and gps. Any help would be appreciated.

CIC? Maybe you can try set TCM_ALIVE_MONITOR&TCM_ID_MONITOR to nicht aktiv. Remember to clear error codes after coding.

Hey I'm new to the forum wondering what was the fix? Since your last post. I have an F30 340 and been having and intermittent sos malfunction that recently became permanent, it's sos malfunction and the sat radio has no signal, however my Bluetooth and phone calls and FM/AM all work fine. Any input out would help.

Check the back up battery for the com module. It's a known issue.

Garage List
Dealership replaced my battery. Took a few hours. No charge and they gave me a loaner.
I did not buy my car from that dealership and it’s two years old. So they have earned my service if I need anything
