OK let's draw a line under it. I like to think over time the tone of my posts speaks for itself. I would have thought this one would have been taken in the spirit it was intended. Good to know where people's various banter thresholds are, I'll know for next time.

Bit late to this post...and a bit scared to add my comments.
My X3 meets my needs for a car. I agree that it's not everybody's cup of tea, but there are benefits (as detailed in other posts) which work for my needs. |

The laws of physics are completely true, a car with a higher ground clearance, more compliant tyres, suspension well suited to road use and clever drivetrain technologies makes a vehicle that is quicker point to point across country than a saloon or coupe which are typically setup and tested on race tracks or for pootling along motorways with the best efficiency.

The reason people take the micky is that whatever car you have, it is the best thing in the world and nothing is better.....until you change, and then your new car obviously becomes that. What sort of roads are you driving on point to point where a coupe or saloon doesn't have enough ground clearance? Your car is nice I'm sure, but it most certainly is not faster point to point than a coupe with similar power and similar suspension and brake upgrades. |
