Hi from another Aussie & virgin BMW owner
Hi All
I've just joined the world of BMW owners (actually my wife did) and i love it. The car is a 2015 Sapphire Black 320i Sport Line. Being a 2015 model it came with a heap of extras that were previously options (not sure about this in other countries). So we got HUD, Bi-Xenon Lights, Electric Seats, Surround View, Adaptive M Suspension, etc. Mostly all the things we were looking to add as options only a month early became standard when we ordered the car in January. We've had the car for a month now and just love driving it. By far though the biggest thing is I feel my wife is a lot safer driving this car to work each day having come from an MX5. Cheers Warren |

Congrats Warren. Those are some nice standard options. I wish my 2012 335i came with HUD, surround view and adaptive suspension. BMW must be throwing in some sweeteners to compete with the new C class.

Congrats 2Bad4U and welcome!
FWIW, I found I turned the HUD off after 6 weeks and haven't used it since unless using navigation. |

Love the MX5 (we've had 2) by far the most fun car to drive. Unfortunately getting old sucks and things like knees and hips become squeakier than mattress springs in a brothel. I couldn't drive the MX5 for more than 30mins and my wife has had 2 knee ops so we had to get something more comfortable.

Welcome 2bad4u!
oh wow... i love the HUD. I find when I get into a car without one, I keep looking at the speedo and the readjustment to read it is tiring. That and changing tracks etc. |

Yup...so did I, for about 6 weeks.
In the end I found the constant digital speedo to be distracting. I know by "feel" if I'm going around 60, but being told "58,59,61,63,61,59,61,63,61" kind of got on my nerves and was distracting. |

If you live in Victoria it is an absolute necessity to know whether you are doing 59, 60 or 61 kph or you will likely get pinged for speeding. It's a nightmare trying to guess the speed with an analog speedo.

Welcome and nice purchase there.
Also new to the bimmer world, have just purchased an ex demo 2014 328i M Sport for the wife. I recently drove a 420i courtesy car from BMW without the HUD and having driven both I prefer the HUD, especially when flicking through the radio stations and using the Nav. |

The HUD has been my favourite option for the last three years.
I do however find myself humming a certain Kenny Loggins track often... Last edited by MikeVictor; 06-10-2015 at 04:15 PM.. |

I love the HUD. Actually I just like digital speedo's in general even going back to the 90's on a fairlane that I had. Just so much easier to glance at than a dial.

Incidentally, I got my first "traffic incident serious warning alert" in the HUD the other day. It seemed to take up the entire screen. |
