Production Manager for concerts and special events. Pretty much name an artist and I've most likely worked for them in some capacity and in recent years, had a hand in producing one show or another. Mid-cap theaters, festivals, etc. The entertainment industry generally underpays but it has it's perks. Used to be a professional touring and studio bassist. Advice to the young: avoid the arts and entertainment like the plague and instead go into law, medicine, finance or tech.

19 years old, just got promoted to Customer Service Supervisor at Whole Foods @ 14.25/hr after working for two years as a Cashier. I work harder and make more money than all my friends and I've rewarded myself accordingly. I've worked non stop since I was 16 and paid for my car on my own. I hate when other people think my mom and dad bought me the car!!

In a world where every film lives and dies by its special effects, they have effectively bid down so far they have bankrupted the FX houses! Even ILM is near the chopping block. In Animation where I work, you're seeing more and more outsourcing every year and we talk about how everything will be done in Asia soon… Add to that the number of cities and countries courting productions with tax credits, and a willingness for studios to buy films already produced independently, rather than use the studio system (except for the 7 or 8 mega budget pictures each year) and you see people giving up the industry and moving away. The few that stick with it are increasingly flying all over the country/world and living out of hotels for months at a time to make a grip or lighting assistants salary. It's not easy... |

I'm 39 years old....scientist in the biotech field. Took a while to get my first BMW, a 2014 328i, because of all the years in school. I hope to give this car to my son who will be 16-17 years old in 13 years!

I'm 51. Got a degree in chemical engineering back in 85. Never worked in the chemical field as I thought it wouldn't pay as much. Complete waste of time and money when I look back. At 23 bought a small pizza shop in Toronto, two years later bought another one, people in canada know the largest pizza chain in canada, won't name it. By 30 I had seven pizza shops and employed over 150 people. At 31 sold them all and got in to fine dining which I had developed a passion for. In the meantime got a job as director of operations for the YUM brand in northern Ontario, quit that job after two years as I found myself too busy with my own businesses, currently own multi unit restsurants and basically work seven days a week and happy to go to work everyday. Planning on putting a bid for GMO free product company in TORONTO. take two weeks vacation every year to keep the wife happy and rest a bit. Oh by the way I put myself through college and worked as a night security guard to be able to pay for it
My ultimate dream......to own a high end car dealership |

435xi 6MT - first BMW, great looking car and handles well. Still have to say most of my previous cars have been Japanese and I think a little better bang for your buck compared to BMW. |

30, dual degrees in chemical engineering and chemistry, currently work in safety and risk management consulting in oil and gas. Dual income no kids, household income around the BMW demographic. Decided to buy a new 5.0 instead while I still could, before I need four doors. Still at this point would not spend north of $50k on a car, and would not lease (personal choice, if it works for you great). Next car likely an S4, X3, or something similar when I need to haul kids. Not for a few years at least.
