340i production dates?

Hi everyone,

Does anybody know anything about the actual F31 340i or more precisely the B58 engine production dates? I have ordered mine in the end of May and nothing have happened since. No production date, nothing.

I have been told that the B58 is getting a particle filter too to comply with EURO 6c emissions that’s why there can be delays but sales rep does not reply my calls so I have been left with no info.

Anyone anything?

I think you should try calling your sales rep again. They would probably be the only person that can help. You need a production number.

I just got my production number yesterday when the sales rep finally replied my call. My car is in production on the 34th week (end of Aug). That is 13 weeks away from my order's date. Is that normal?

It sounds like a long time. The two 3-series BMW's I've ordered have taken 6-8 weeks from the day I put down a deposit to the day I drove it home. Both of mine were German built.
But there are a couple of variables here.
--Whether the dealer needed an allocation for your car. If so, the dealer might have been out of allocations and had to wait to order it.
--If BMW had some delays in their production (new EU regulations around emissions may have delayed things).
--Germany not making it very far in the World Cup (totally kidding about this one)

But there's really nothing to worry about now that you have a production number. The car will be worth the wait.

6-8 weeks would be bearable. Probably we are talking here about the dealer being not honest about their allocations since he should have known that when do they have allocations by the time I paid the deposit. Therefore I feel tricked. Don't know what to do right now, because my twin girls will be born by mid august so getting the car at the same time is absolutely not good in many terms! And the dealer knew that...

I guess BMW just got their sh*t together - my production came early as much as 3 weeks - from the 34th week to the 31st.

It is going to be ready to ship next week.

Nice, well at least you didn’t get totally screwed. I just put my deposit down last week, waiting to see how long it takes for me. Hopefully sooner rather than later

Depends on how you look at it. I’ve put down the deposit in May... Nevertheless it seems loke the productions came back to normal pace since the new B58 (and other petrol engines) got their particulate filters- that took the whole July out of prod AFAIK.

Damn....Well I called the BMW 1800 number and spoke with one of the reps. They said that estimated completion time would be the 34th week so 8/20-8/26. Then however long it takes to get to the port, land etc. I put my deposit down 7/16 so looking at 8 weeks roughly my guess

Not to dampen your joy about this, but my 440i GC, which was assigned a production week of 34 (late Aug), changed to a Production Started status and I got a VIN assigned last Thursday (7/19). I got super excited expecting production to take 7-10 days to complete which if true, would give me a delivery date of the very end of August (assuming 30 days to process and ship).

BUT, in this weeks time, I have stayed on Production Started started status with zero progress... So even though it says production of my vehicle started, I am skeptical that it really has. :/

Yeahhh I figured. Not getting my hopes too high for early delivery based on what I’ve heard/read but it was good to see something move forward as minuscule as it may be

Well, a little sign of hope! I moved to "Exterior Body Assembly Begins" this morning. I got really excited when I moved to "Production Begins" 8 long days ago, so I got my expectations out of whack, but it's finally moving now. Production should only take 7-10 days.

Hopefully yours will start moving along too!

My new F31 340i is also due to start build on week 34, and estimated delivery to dealer in week 37.

Can't wait

Isn't DAB standard though ?

I'm pretty sure I didn't have to spec it on my car, but it's certainly included.
