Today was a good day !

I finally managed to get my wife to change her Evoque convertible to a Range Rover Sport.

This is great for me as A, the Evoque Cab, is basically an impractical 2 door 4x4 barbie Mobil, and B, looks like a clog and I have to drive it with a bag on my head!!

Anyway I no longer have to have a practical do all car, so I can get a daily more fitting!! I might have to store the Evoque away until March to sell it, however, if you know of anyone wanting an Evoque convertible in Orange with 41k miles that still has 8 months Land Rover warranty on it, let me know

In the meantime her new RRS

The Evoque Cabriolet was an idea too many for me. I had a 4-door Evoque as a loaner a few years back and quite liked it, despite the single scroll turbo Ford engine. It set a new standard in turbo lag. I'm told the later Ingenium cars are better.

I know what you mean with the Evoque, but I thought it was more about the pulling alway from a standstill and it had that moment where the car paused then went, yes it got better with the Ingenium engine, but they then made it out of cheese!

The cab is not a bad car, you would think it might rattle and shake, but it’s well put together and is surprisingly nice to drive especially with the roof down, but it’s a car a man should never drive, and is for woman only!

I seriously looked at buying one of these and did a fair bit of research on the model range / facelift years / engine / price combinations. The interiors on some were fantastic, but it was the reported reliability issues that clouded my view, someting I never expected.

I have a couple of farmers for clients and they use them for what they were designed for and when they've clocked up loads of miles they replace them with new ones, so I thought they can't be as bad as people say and we all know there's always the 'Friday afternoon' car, but coming from a 330d BMW engine and a B58 engine over 150K miles where I really had no reliability issues, I decided to head to the F15 X5 for a 4x4 despite the heart telling me a RRS would be much nicer and would be fine.

Anyway long story short, we decide that we really didn't need a 4x4 and bought the G31. But, when I see a nice RRS a little voice in my head tells me "should have bought one" !

Anyway enjoy the car it looks fantastic and I'm sure it'll prove to be excellent.

I think they get a bashing, but lets face it all brands have issues, and yes I agree BMW appear to be more reliable (I'm a BMW fanboy) but we always had Range Rovers for the past 15 years and had about 9 of them now. Yes they have had issues or the earlier ones did, however I will say this, I am not a Range Rover fan they have always been the wife's chosen choice of travel (in fact she won't have anything else) but I will say this about them, there is no other car at their prices that can match the ride quality, comfort, practicality, lovely place to be, and the majesty of the right Range Rover.

Sorry mate, but all I think when I see the picture above is "drug dealer".

Can't get past that thought I'm afraid. My daughter, on the other hand, would say it's her dream car.

I said you will look like a pimp daddy drug dealer in it!

No, I think she has had her fun with the Cabby and she is now "ready" to go back to a Sport!

I can get rid of my outfit now when I used to go in it!
