2013 BMW 328i xDrive (Timing Chain Guide)

Hello all, I have almost 117k miles on the clock, I change oil every 3-4K miles and every 3-4 months, I know the N20/26 engine is known for this issue with the plastic. It seems however due to long oil change intervals and I notice them on lower mileage ones, idk what month mine was produced, but you guys think I should be okay? Car has been bulletproof reliable so far.

I am glad that you reported no issues so far for 117K miles. I am also glad to know that you changed oil often!

I thought changed oil every 6 months (4K miles) was a little excessive for me, but it seems what you are doing helps!

Curious, do you also turn off auto start stop? Do you often drive to red lines or go gentle with the gas panel?

I had an 04 e60 530i previously , what a nightmare the previous owner destroyed it then dumped it on me. I got this car at 114k miles, got it PPId and checked out clean, I change the oil well in advanced, I have the auto start/stop turned off also. And I drive gentle for the most part but when I drive hard I go in sport mode etc but only to pass cars big trucks etc.
