"No Warning Tones" displayed on iDrive screen...
Anyone else ever had their iDrive crash and then reappear with "No Warning Tones" showing on the screen as per the atatched image?
If so, what does this mean? This has happened now a dozen or so times in the past month.

From what I've read, it's a bad amp. Took mine in today for the same thing, they can't look at it for a few days tho😞😞😞. Plus then I'm sure they'll have to order it taking even longer. Others have said it's covered under the factory warranty. Let's hope🤞🏻🤞🏻

Bad amp kinda makes sense.
My car is still under warranty so I'll go ahead and make an appointment for this weekend.

Some of us list our current cars. I guess you don’t. That’s why I was confused.

Quick update, dropped my car off last Thursday (1-week ago) at the dealership to address this issue and after going thru all of the diagnostics and trouble shooting, they called me today to tell me there were going to replace the amp.
Not sure why it would take them 1-week to come to that conclusion, but I had a loaner (X2) so I wasn't pressed for time. Will report back on whether the new amp solves the issues once I receive the car back this weekend.

Update - After picking up my car on Saturday the audio cut out within 10-minutes of my return drive home, and 'No Warning Tones' re-appeared on the iDrive screen.
So if indeed they swapped out the amp, that did not solve the issue. Super frustrating problem to deal with. Dropping the car back off next Monday. Grrr!

Thinking about it some more it seems odd that there isn't a code thrown, if the iDrive knows that the warning tones aren't working then it should know why. For sure someone at BMW should know what could cause the warning to come up on the screen.

Here is an update....
After dropping my car off a second time, the mechanic seemed confident that the issue was due to having an old school iPod plugged into the USB in the armrest. He claimed that the new electrics in the vehicle don't always work properly with older plug-in technology and that simply unplugging the iPod would correct the issues. He was wrong. A day later the audio cut off and 'No Warning Tones' reappeared on the iDrive - and this after unplugging the iPod and turning off Bluetooth. Super frustrating!! I may just have to live with this.

What age is the battery? Maybe the voltage is dropping causing this issue to occur? Better to work our way to the root of the issue to the amp to check for issues. Only way I can see this popping up is from poor voltage to the amp or the amp itself. Either way it seems the issue is connected to the amplifier issue being a bad unit or insufficient power.

No, I have a sedan. They supposedly replaced the amp the first time I dropped off the vehicle and that didn't do the trick.

Other than the “no warning tones” message, what other problems does this exhibit? Can you still play music etc? Is the only thing wrong that you are missing the little chimes and such?
Could be an electrical or computer gremlin i.e. some component on a circuit board starting to go. After 10 minutes, electrical things start to heat up, and then shut off. |

Not yet. Dropping my car off next week and getting a loaner and not accepting my car back until it's fixed.
What's the status with your vehicle?

It usually corrects itself about about 30 seconds but this can happen several times in a single trip.
