Is it confirmed that this will run off-line at some point? I have huge problems with mine so I really hope so!!!

Would you recommend integrated or normal JB4 FW to run with flash and pure stg2? Seems the JB4 ISO control is not nearly as smooth on map4.

They said they're working on offline mode for all features except flashing new maps. I'm not in China and my internet connection is fine no issues here at all. Love my BM3.

They talked about it. How many features will be available offline that I'm not sure yet. Yep not a fan of ISO version myself..but Terry highly recommends ISO for a PS2 so I'd run what he says. WTBS I know folks not on ISO and PS2 with a custom map 6 and they've had no issues.

Wait a sec... you need constant internet connection to run BM3? I thought you just needed it when uploading a map from the server? Very confused... Am I able to upload a map from my iPhone from their app?

You do need to be online when you load the tune, but once loaded it's not needed for loading anymore.

Also if you want other features to work, like the Exhaust flap or the logging, then you need to be online at this time.

Hopefully we will get the flap and logging as offline functions in future.

Copy that. For a second there some posts made me think a constant connection was necessary. That would SUCK.

Has anyone had any experiences with this for dealer visits? I remove my JB4 when I visit, so would this require you to do your factory flash, then BT scan tool for codes and what not?

Well now the DME can actually control the PS2 by itself so i am thinking non-ISO will be better. I'll see if I can find time to test this weekend.

Before resoldering the diode Ill give ISO a whirl though.

This is the best advice I can give you but also the more expensive one.

Get both. BM3 is the future and with limitless maps and flashing capabilities. You can pick a favorite tuner and work on custom maps from 1,000 miles away. Or use PTF's OTS maps.
No need to be close anymore to have custom maps.

Jb4 has a lot of benefits and it can still manipulate fuel and boost to a higher ceiling. You can stack a bm3 flash with a jb4 and really have some serious power, especially with upgraded turbo.

What are your goals? Stay simple just tune and down pipe? Full bolt on? Turbo upgrade...list those and we can elaborate even further many people in here with experience.

For now, the jb4 is the only way to use an N20 tmap sensor, until someone rescales every table in the DME that's associated with the tmap. High power cars like mine need the jb4 until that issue is fixed.

At what point would a n20 tmap be needed?

After exceeding 21 psi..basically unless you're upgrading your turbo don't worry about it.

I would not recommend you to get JB4 if your car is with Pneumatic Waste Gate. The only FW version that really works is ISO which is not Plug'n'Play but require a lot of knowledge to setup.

Wait a few more months until PTF are further with the BM3 OTS maps for N55. This is my best recommendation.

I second this. Not that I'm against jb4 but I also fried a lot of boards and I just did away with jb4 with all the short circuit B+ errors. Funny you mention the FW versions and ISO being better...I had way better luck one earlier firmware like hex.2. Once bms started rolling out 5,6,9 FW it got worse and worse for me and DT error every 3 days. You notice anything similar?

Making a little less power with bm3 and ps1 but I've never been happier and more reliable.

Plus like you said PTF is coming out with better and more revised maps on a weekly basis! Get BM3 and be done.

What he said lol. I never dreamed I would get this deep into car modding, but once I started getting more power I was addicted. cryptocar has far surpassed anybody I know of though. I can't wait for his build to be finished.
