brake system drive moderately

I’ve been driving around in the winter in my F30 328xi but lately I have been having trouble controlling the car at low speeds with brakes on. For some reason my front brakes will lock up, and my rears will continue to rotate. Shouldn’t the ABS stop this from happening?

I tried applying the brakes fully and I get a warning “brake system failure drive moderately, Go to the nearest service station”. I have no error code that sticks, nothing to indicate that an ABS sensor has failed. I have no check engine light but I did read my car with an OBD3 reader getting a temp sensor error. The only way for me to turn at slow speeds is not to touch the brakes.

Anyone have an idea what could be causing the problem? I am leaning towards an ABS sensor failure but I have no code to support it.

Only if it's working. Since your reader hasn't identified the problem that leaves one option: take it to a shop.

Taking it to the shop today. My car has further developed issues with the power steering as it stopped working for a drive. It’s working now but I can’t have that stop working to. I’m thinking the cold is the issue.

Looks like moving down south is my best option thanks zimmer

It’s too humid down south, move west to AZ & enjoy the dry heat.

Yeah, just avoid California...we're full.

On a serious note, keep us posted on what's wrong with your car, sounds serious and I'm curious to hear what the issue was. How many miles on it?

I've got a nice beach house waiting for me in Bakersfield when I retire. So far just the house, not the beach, but it will arrive in due time.

Are you running catless to help move things along?
