You still haven't made up your mind? I've read only good things about CTS, even from members who have been using it long term, no CELs or performance issues, good prominent sound. However, if I get it I'd definitely remove it before going to the stealership (under warranty)

Don't have any direct experience with it, but yeah. If you want a small bump in power, go with an open or closed box intake. Members will argue til they're blue in the face open vs. closed... pick one that fits your budget. Open if you want more noise. The closed boxes are better at muffling the noise.

Haha I already decided to buy it but I'm waiting for the discount on Black Friday.

Yes, I will take it off when I take it to the dealership.

I will choose the open one but I was confused between the CTS and AFE but mostly i will go with CTS.

I saw it already.

But i was wondering if the holes with afe filter will make a noticeable turbo sound?

I'm okay with the Injen intake it's amazing but I don't know I feel it's not good for the engine.
You with definitely get a small bump in performance and sound from an aFe Pro Dry filter and either M Performance intake or holes drilled in the same location. More expensive open intakes may make more noise but they can also be detrimental to the power.

It doesn't matter how big the intake is, there isn't any additional air getting into the engine itself to generate more power. Why? Because your construction points are 1) the inlet pipe just before it enters the turbo (see photo), and 2) the air capacity of the stock turbo itself.

Was about to pull trigger on aem intake but keep reading so many reasons not to.

Biggest reason - Dinan was developing an intake for f30 but decided not to since no gain to be had, evidently.

I think the cold air intake will be useful only after Tune and lots of mods. I'm talking 400+ HP.

The $300 for the turbo sound with my M exhaust will make the car more fun.
