Sun Joe SPX3000 Electric Pressure Washer Review

I recently decided I was tired of lugging around my 70 lb gas powered pressure washer as I always found myself deferring to using my Gilmour Foam Cannon with the garden hose instead of cranking up the pressure washer. I did some research and read up on electric pressure washer as well as some newer gas powered pressure washers. Based on many reviews I ended up purchasing the Sun Joe SPX3000 electric pressure washer.

The Sun Joe SPX3000 is a 2030 PSI/1.76 GPM electric plug in pressure washer. It is quite lightweight at 31 lbs and easily rolls around. It comes with a 25 foot pressure hose for the wand, a 0, 15, 25, and 40 degree quick disconnect tip as well as a soap dispensing tip, two soap canisters with a built in switch to change the feed from one canister to the other or neither one and a 35 foot electrical cord.

I have washed 3 cars this weekend and cleaned up some oil splatter on the driveway from an oil change using the pressure washer. I am very impressed with the performance! It is very easy to use, plenty of power, quiet and does not vibrate your hands much at all so fatigue is minimal. When you are not pulling the trigger the electric motor shuts off which is also a very nice feature. I was easily and safely able to clean off brake dusts and dirt from my wheels and perform a pre rinse and final rinse of the car. I found that every tip from 15 degrees to 40 degrees is safe on the finish of the car but will stick to the 40 degree tip just to be safe. I tried filling the soap canister with car shampoo and using the soap tip on the wand like a foam cannon. I figured it was not really designed for this type of use but wanted to see how it would work. It is definitely a waste of time. It produces minimal foam while using a LOT of soap. Stick to using this function for spraying cleaning agents on your driveway, brick or vinyl. I also found that the pressure washer is plenty powerful for easy cleaning of dirty concrete. Sun Joe sells a "turbo" tip for $20 that is supposed to increase the cleaning power and minimize working time when cleaning concrete. I will be purchasing this to try.

All in all I think the Sun Joe SPX3000 is a great tool for car detailing and will also double as a cleaning tool for your household needs. The cheapest place to order from is Amazon. I ordered mine via Amazon Prime and received it within 2 days for $150.

I did not get a chance to try it out with my MTM foam lance. I will be doing so soon and posting results. I have seen videos online where it produces nice thick "shaving cream" which is always fun!

Grab yourself an MTM PF22 foam cannon. That will give you the results you are looking for.

What soap/shampoo would you recommend with that?

chemical guys honeydew snow foam is the soap to get! It is made for use in foam cannons. Great foam, clings to car, good smell and works well.
