I purposely overheated my M Sport (blue) brakes on the track and there was zero discoloration.

I have some friends told me that ticking sounds from M performance Brakes was caused by pads. There is a gap between pads and rotors. I am not sure how they fix this problem, as I am considering to place an order from Portfiled.
No noticeable noise with the Porterfield pads (now that the rear pads have counterweights).
So that fixed it? I have the originals and they are squealing like hell. I called Porterfield and they wanted me to pay for new ones...despite me sending in the original templates lol

That sucks! They sent me a new pair, with counterweights, for free, and it eliminated the annoying squeal.

I'd call back and talk to someone else.

Thinking of trying that out.

Will these pads fit '14 F30 w/ M-Perf Brakes? I want a quiet low dust pad. The OEM are SUPER DUSTY!

So I got a new set of the rears and they didn't have the weights. Just so we're clear, we're talking rears here right?

Both rears and fronts should have weights.

Red ones have been heated a lot on lime rock (hehe), and have been fine....are you getting color fade?

I have the M Sport Brake Option on my 2014 335i M Sport RWD.

I'm thinking of using the F80 M3 brake pads for track events/autox. These should be sufficient for a novice, right? I know they dust majorly.

I've only done 2 shortened sessions with the 435 (financed and no track insurance), I have an S2000 ( fully paid off and never use track insurance) , that's my track car.

The S has hi-temp powder coated black OEM calipers that have held up fantastic.

Yes more than enough-once heated up really awesome too. Just a lot of pad material on the wheels after a full session....

I know this question should be for a supplier, but does anyone know if the 2NH M Sport brakes on the LCI 340s are the same as the '15 335s? I haven't even seen my car yet, but from experience, I know I'll want to change pads.

The plan is to go with Anthracite finish APEX wheels. Hopefully a darker wheel finish hides the brake dust.

So. R4s are the best one for the M performance break kit? Just looking for less dust one. Can really clean my wheels everyday with the MP break kit.

So, what are people running for pads instead of the stock M performance pads? I have no idea if my M performance pads are the old or the new versions.

I need more bite up front. I may re-bleed the brakes first though because the pedal travels quite a bit, even when just backing out of my driveway.

For the track Im running G-Loc R12's up front and R10's in the back. In order to run the same family compound I'm running their GS1 pad square on the street.

Before I decided to go to G-Loc (they are the current hotness in racing and hpde circles) I was planning on running Hawk 5.0's for the street and DTC60's on the track.

The G-Loc's are awesome, very happy so far on the track but the real test is next month at Watkins Glen. For the street the GS1's are excellent, good smooth torque and very low dust. Right now I have no plans on changing pad manufacturers. In fact i have an unused set of Hawk 5.0s I need to sell.

http://www.g-locbrakes.com/ give Danny Puskar a call and he'll set you up.

I recently had the M Performance Brake System installed on my 2017 340i w/mppsk. Does anyone know the exact part number and what type of pads came with the kit. I am not happy with the pads; too much dust, too much fade and not enough initial bite. I am interested in a pad upgrade like a Stoptech Street or Sport or a Hawk 5.0. I do not track the car but I drive EXTREMELY fast and aggressive. The original pads on my car (not msport brakes) seemed to do a better job stopping the car.
