Help! What do these wires connect to!
Drivers side front wheel-well on my 2017 f31 330i xdrive. One is the brake pad wear sensor but not sure what the other is, and I don't know which is which!

A clearer pic of where the wires lead to would probably help others to chime in. Seems like the wire is connected to an adapter/socket at the bottom of the pic near the drive shaft. Something to do with the Xdrive? Surprise no warning lights when the cables snapped. What could have caused both sets of wire to break and are you not able to connect them back to the other ends which I am sure are still dangling there.

You're missing a piece there. There is supposed to be a square electrical box that snaps into the hole on the subframe and those two sets of wires get routed up into it like this:
The second set of cables should be for the EDC shocks.

In the latter photo, he red is the fog lights, the green is supposed to be the ambient air temperature sensor, but the connector does not fit with my new sensor, and im not sure what blue circled connector is supposed to go to. I cant find any diagrams for these things! Last edited by cbarbour; 06-08-2021 at 12:42 PM.. |

I'm going to be "that guy", and say "why not look around in that area and find the connector that's missing the %^&%^$^% wires?"
It obviously cannot reach that far, so it's basically a self-solving problem. |

I see what happen there. The connectors for the cables on the right hand side are missing. Possibly ripped off its wire. The other 2 connectors are dangling on the left hand side. But it should be easy enough to match the wire color and connect them back up. Or get the connectors from the dealer and spliced back the wires. Should be an easy fix TBH without even having to find out what the wires are for.

BTW is this a car you are trying to fixed up? Cos looking at the brake disc the car must have been sitting around a long time. Someone must have decided to cut off the connectors for another repair.
