Ethanol or ethanol free gasoline

The F30 manual recommends 91 AKI octane and a minimum of 89 AKI octane. Where I live I can get either:

92 AKI octane with 10% Ethanol or
89 AKI octane Ethanol free

Which should I use? Both cost the same.

To me that's like choosing between a punch to the face or kick in the groin - they both hurt but only one can cause serious long term damage

take the 89!

I personally don't believe that ethanol is as harmful as everyone thinks. I live in Illinois where we grow corn on more land than people live on. I've used ethanol with a 10 percent blend ever since I have been driving. I am a state trooper and we use all different brands of gas, but 99.5 percent have the ethanol blend. I have gone through five cars. My current car is an 06 Chevy Impala with 195,000 plus miles on it. I ran down a car I clocked at 101 while I was going the other direction. I looked down and I was running about 136 and yes, I caught HER. The point is that I have used ethanol mixed fuel in everything I drive that uses gasoline and have never had an engine failure. Just in my work cars that is well over a million miles.
