Brakes 428i vs 435i vs M-Sports vs M Performance

Ok, so I have been shopping for a new 4 series and was curious about the different brakes that are available. Could not find anything too helpful online so I sent an E-mail to BMW USA and this is what they said:

The 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe comes with two distinct braking systems. The BMW 428i models feature lightweight sliding calipers with large vented discs (12.3" front, 11.8" rear) and Anti-Lock Braking capabilities at all four wheels. The BMW 435i models feature a high-performance system that includes 4-piston fixed calipers in the front and lightweight sliding calipers in the rear, large vented discs (13.4" front, 13.0" rear) and Anti-Lock Braking capabilities at all four wheels.

BMW 4 Series Coupe models equipped with the M Sport Package also boast high-performance brake pads. Additionally, the 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe can be ordered with optional M Sport brakes which feature the following:

• 4-piston aluminum fixed calipers front and 2-piston aluminum fixed calipers rear
• lightweight discs (diameter: 13.4" (428i) or 14.6" (435i) front, 13.6" rear)
• high-performance brake pads
• blue-painted calipers with "M" designation

They did not comment on the M-Performance brakes that you can purchase separately, but this is what it says on the website:
Brembo high-performance 4-piston aluminum fixed caliper on the front axle and 2-piston aluminum fixed caliper on the rear axle. Improved thermal resistance thanks to larger, internally-ventilated, lightweight-construction sports brake discs. Drilled (dimpled) and grooved brake discs also reduce water film build-up between the brake lining and the disc surface. Available in M Performance Red, Yellow or Orange – all with an M logo on the outside of the caliper. Drilled and grooved, internally-ventilated lightweight brake disks with riveted aluminum hat measuring 370 x 30 mm (14.57 x 1.18") on the front axle and 345 x 24 mm (13.58" x .94") on the rear axle (rear brake discs must be ordered separately).

Not sure if the brake calipers are the same on the M-Sports and M-Performance but the disks are definitely bigger, drilled and grooved. If you were curious as well hope this helps and if anyone has any additional info it would be appreciated.

the only difference btw msport and mperf brakes are that the mperf rotors are drilled/slotted (same size as msports).

Almost the case. It has to be M Sport with 2NH upgrade for it to be the same rotor size as the M performance rotor.

I did search but there was a lot of conflicting information, so I decided to E-mail BMW for clarification and post it.

this post adds the following info the other one doesn't Thanks for posting this.

BMW 4 Series Coupe models equipped with the M Sport Package also boast high-performance brake pads. It's nice to know the msport package enhances braking standard without the additional msport brake option.

Not sure if you read both posts, but not all of the info was correct on the other post. And there were some details missing.
