Electric folding mirrors fold in by different amounts?

Hi I've just bought an F36 GC and the electric folding mirrors fold in at different amounts. What I mean is that the left one folds in by 1inch more than the right one (see pics). The dealer says that this is fine as they have checked it against two other vehicles but I'm struggling to believe this.

Is there any chance for those that have electric folding mirrors to see if they do the same with theirs please?

Many thanks in advance!

3.5" on my passenger, 4.5" on my drivers side for my F32, they also close at slightly different speeds I've noticed.

I bet the distance they are from the windows in the extended position is different as well, to account for the different angles of the mirrors with respect to the driver.

Once you notice it you can't stop! Sounds like it's a common issue then and nothing we can do about it...thanks for your replies!

Not an issue in any way, it's down to the geometry of mirror angle and fixed radius of movement in the mechanics of the mirrors, they all are the same.

I have noticed that on mine as well! From memory, the passenger one (right) folds closer to the window than the driver one (left). I could not find an explanation/logic myself...... They are the same size.... should be mechanically identical.... Can't think of any safety or other benefit of the driver one being slightly more open.... No idea.

The angle of incidence to the driver's side mirror is about 40 degrees, to the passenger side mirror about 10 degrees. That would explain why they might not be identical. I haven't been curious enough about it to confirm it on my car.

That's the mirror glass itself, not the entire body. No legitimate explanation for me.

I just replaced my mirror caps over the weekend and when I was popping out the mirrors on the passenger side I noticed this as well, I thought it was just me but I guess this is more common than I thought.
