Bmw 405m Alloys

Hi guys,

I need some help i am looking to buy Genuine used 405m alloys i have seen a set but they have been refurbished and there is no way for me to tell if they are genuine or not because there is no bmw stamp or part no or any other clue as they where 20" with runflat tyres and could not tell the weight.

Can any one tell me another way to find out if the alloys are genuine or not.

Thanks

I have 405 Reps and there is no stamp at the back but I am pretty sure genuine 405 will have part number and BMW stamp at the back mate.

How much seller asking for them ?

Genuine 405s have markings inside the wheel, see pic below. My old set were refurbed and you could still make out the markings. At the very least you should be able to see where the marking were even if you can no longer read them.

If you can't see stamps then offer him £800-£1000 for them as they replica for sure .

There is a set on eBay for sale round £2000 why not send him email see what he says

They can be very difficult to see. I found shining a touch from the front face to the back helped show up the markings which were more or less impossible to see otherwise and they were bought from BMW. These were matt black 18" winter variants though.

Another thing i have realised (correct me if i am wrong) is that the Genuine alloys are gunmetal grey but the reps are more charcoal grey slightly darker or maybe its the refurbishment guy that have put a different colour on them.

To be honest i have thought about it a few times they are slightly cheeper but they look better on 4 series then 3series (i think)

The 405s i think just make the car complete especially if you have the M Performance Kit.

So whats the spec for 20" reps do you know?
