Has anyone opened up a NBT unit before and if so are the Pin 13 connected to anything?

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a 2013 F30 that had the champ 2 head unit with DAB and NAV with combox in the boot.

I have just had an NBT Pro retro fit fit done but the AM/FM is not getting any stations and the DAB is dropping regularly.

I currently have live traffic working.

Would doing the pin 13 to pin 15 help resolve any of these issues

To answer my own question, yes it did need doing.

I now have FM and a more stable DAB.

It seems this did not fix the issue, I still lose signal on DAB and FM/AM.

Also phone calls via bluetooth lose the ability of the other person being able to hear me although I can still hear them and I have a very strong mobile signal.

This retrofit is turning in to a nightmare, i've gone from a decent working system to a better system that does not work.

May well go back to the original system.

After reversing the wiring mod my DAB has become slightly better but the AM/FM has all but disappeared.

Pin 13 on the quadlock is getting 2.4 volts.

The next step is to try an LCI antenna to see if that makes a difference.

On another note using bluetooth to make phone calls results in the microphone not picking up speach after about a minute, this means the other party cannot hear me but I can still hear them.

I've done your same upgrade, HU_CHAMP2 to HU_NBT, and connecting pin 13 to pin 15 let me send power to the back antenna and I'm able to receive about 25 FM stations in a good quality when car is stationary, some noise when car is running. I'm also waiting for a NBT antenna on Ebay, to see if the quality will improve, however NBT antenna has 2 wires for FM/AM signal, and a 3th wire for DAB. We have to lay out 2 new wires from the car trunk to the front NBT if we really want to get the best antenna performance. I'm also really surprised you're able to get some DAB stations.. I've any wire connected to the NBT's DAB back connector, and I'm not able to receive ANY DAB station on my car; in fact there is the "no signal" waring on the display when I select DAB source..

I have now swapped out the antenna for an LCI one with two FM connectors and DAB.

The FM is now perfect but the DAB still drops out sometimes.

I have noticed that each time I removed the head unit the DB would behave differently so I am assuming it is getting interference from a source in the loom as the quadlock sits in a different place to the CHAMP 2 unit.

Did you just fit an LCI antenna, or did you have to run a cable from the headunit.
Cheers.
