Jb4 on my 2013 335 6MT.... limp home
So I’ve had the JB4 on my car for about 2500 miles... been fine until recently I got an MAF code. Would not reset, ran rough. Figured at 53000 it was in fact a bad MAF so I replaced it with brand new dealer part. 1000 later more codes and now it’s in limp home... have I fried something?
ICarly readout of codes; 121001 108A01 120408 102A01 I removed the JB4 for now...all the above persists. Sucks because it has been running well with good power which I was using but not abusing....(I don’t drive hard, I just wanted, and got, better throttle response and a bit more punch from the overly conservative std tune) What do you guys think? Am I going to have to pay the dealer big time here and find I got my warranty voided? |

probably the shitty jb4 lol. They are known to fry the tmap sensor... its pretty common. Theres a fix for the tmap ground located on the BMS site actually since it happens to often. It's not to bad or costly if that is indeed the case.
So you now took off jb4 and running stock tune with same problems?

I’ll look at the tmap ground fix. But yes as it stands now I have removed the unit and car is completely stock with all these codes and restricted performance.

I used to have that code, what helped me get rid of those codes were an upgraded charge pipe. The stock charge pipe is relatively fragile plastic and will usually crack under normal boost near the throttle body. If you buy one from VRSF, it is aluminum and will accommodate the higher psi.

102A01 is for a faulty MAF sensor. JB4 doesn't touch that connection, so likely some electrical issue with it still. Sometimes intake can cause it too.
The rest are from the TMAP sensor. If they don't clear then the ground may be damaged and you can apply the ground fix described at the bottom of the JB4 install guide. 2013 models are very sensitive to the TMAP ground, even static electricity can zap it. Whatever it was was resolved in 2014+ models as I rarely ever hear of an issue with those. It's a quick fix though. Mike |

Thanks for the responses guys. I re-grounded the tmap and got all codes to clear except the MAF code that comes back upon restarting the car. This Maf is brand new but I guess it somehow got fried.... $320 in MAFS within a month sucks but I guess that’s what happened!
JB4 is off the car at this point. |
