I did see some on eBay. Assuming knockoffs of course. Pulled the trigger with @mike@xp-h.com last night. I will tackle first nice spring day

All BOV's have fakes, especially the HKS and Greddy ones on Ebay etc etc so you gotta be careful. A lot of times people will upgrade to a better BOV when upping the boost as the stock ones might leak over time and of course some sound awesome too.

Of COURSE I wanted to immediately leap into that gap, and document the process as working with GFB is just fantastic. I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner Brett, who you can see in their product video descriptions, what a great guy!

All in all this isn't a hard project and just needs a few simple tools. I have no doubt you will get it done faster than I did, with the lessons (and couple of new tools I bought in the middle) I learned along the way. A lift like I used would be ideal, but you absolutely can do this on jacks as well.

Great video, we have a lot of customers that could have used this on previous purchases.

Enjoy!

Hey yall.. I have had this part in now for what, a couple of weeks? I am honestly impressed. This is a very subtle component, you aren't going to see a jump in dyno stats or RWP or the like, but I believe very strongly it makes a difference.

Let me see if I can explain it from a butt dyno place.. so accelerating through the gears (6MT here), power and acceleration is rising, clutch in shift and clutch out, and there is that drop off as it then has to catch back up and then accelerate again. Like a rising trend line, drop off to a lower set point then rising again.

With this installed, the drop off part of that line in my example, is less, shorter, power returns quicker. That is how it feels at least.. little hard to explain and harder to measure, except maybe if you are a dedicated 1/4 mile kid, and have a ton of runs before this install, and then runs after. I bet you would show faster runs if so..

But I am honestly impressed, and talking with GFB and Brett directly has been awesome!

Well said and agree. The pressure drop when changing gears is more 'measured' with DV+ so when going back on throttle there's more pressure inside the system to build up upon. Whereas with stock, the pressure falls off a cliff when shifting to then having to all 'rebuild up' once again.

Great question and honestly hard to tell.. weather is only starting to get better now in the PacNW, so windows down time. The sound seems slightly softer and longer now, than before, but with my CAI (being really loud), its hard to tell sometimes.

Done the GFB DV+ today, and also did the AA FMIC and AA charge pipes.
Thanks again for all your videos, that where really helpful for preparing myself.

I went to a local shop I know and did it all with the mechanic.

My takeaways for the GFB DV+:
- preparation is everything. Have a look at the OPs videos, but also at GFB videos, so you know what to look for.
- Thankfully I made it in a shop with a vehicle lift!
- Car has 55000 km the original valve membrane was still fine
- We just released the water pump, but not the holder, and could still manage to access all screws
- We used a 1/4" wrench, a cardan joint and some extensions to access to screws. We could also manage to access the top screw this way. Sure a bit tricky, but it worked.
- It took us about two hours just for the DV+ install (not rush)
- The DV+ change can be done by one person, but sometimes two more hands are just so helpful. (especially for the FMIC and charge pipe change)

So i recently purchased a DV+ and spent some time under the car this weekend trying to figure out which way to tackle this on an xdrive. I really couldn't find a way i was confident with. The only way i could find that would make it remotely possible is through the passenger side wheel well after removing the liner... but even that requires some finagling...
