I noticed that my last post wasn't a bit confusing.

But the F80 LCI photo has the old display and also the old cup holders. So why wouldn't they facelift that on the M3?!

I am very curious about this as well. Would be a welcome upgrade for the enthusiasts who also want xdrive.

For the e9x M3, the compartment right above the transmission lever remained the same. My LCI 335 didn't have the lid but my LCI M3 has the lid (which the pre LCI's had). But they did change other stuff like the wiper blades. But it's safe to say M3 doesn't always get all the LCI updates.

I like that I clarified a confusing post with yet another auto-complete error!

But thanks for confirming that BMW are strange! Why wouldn't M owners want the latest upgrades in the interior?

I'm not sure how BMW decides what gets LCI updates on the M models. However, I do prefer the lid cover on my M3 vs just an open storage in my old 335.

Did anyone fact check that press release?

Read the following:
Accounting for around 25 percent of total BMW worldwide vehicle sales, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Sports Wagon represent the brand’s most successful model line with over 14 million sales globally.
Now I don't know much, but it seems a bit preposterous that BMW will have sold 56 million (14*4*1000000) 3-series cars globally. That figure may be plausible over the entire life of the 3-series, but even that seems implausible. Why? in 2013 BMW sold ~310K cars in total. 56,000,000 total 3ers sold divided by 310,000/year equals about 45.16 years worth of selling at that rate and we all know that BMW didn't sell cars at that rate.

Consider also some competing 2014 figures:
- GM vehicle sales: 2.5 million
- Toyota vehicle sales: ~9.5 million

All the best.

Minor changes.....

The LED tail lights look interesting (even though I prefer the straight lines on the Pre-LCI). Will have to see it in person to fully judge.

Where do you get 56 million 3-series from?
It says that they have sold 14 million 3-series cars in total and that is 25% of their total sales.

And your numbers seem to be off. I took this from their sales release for 2013.

Quote:
Sales of BMW brand cars increased by 11.6% to 1,540,085 units (2011: 1,380,384 units), thus exceeding the mark of 1.5 million units for the first time in a single financial year. The MINI brand surpassed the sales volume threshold of 300,000 units for the first time in a 12-month reporting period, with sales volume up by 5.8% to 301,526 units (2011: 285,060 units). Rolls-Royce was the clear market leader in the ultra-luxury segment in 2012. In total, 3,575 units were sold during the year (2011: 3,538 units/+1.0%),

Your sales figures for BMW are incorrect. They sold almost 2 million BMW-brand cars (and a number of other brands that pushed the total over 2M) of which almost 500K were 3-Series and over 100K were 4-Series (which of course were called 3's in previous model years.) Here's a quote from the press release:
Sales climbed by 9.5% to 1,811,719 units (2013: 1,655,138 units)...Sales of the BMW 3 Series remained at a high level in 2014 with 480,214 units sold (2013: 500,332 units). The Convertible and Coupé models have been incorporated into the BMW 4 Series since the end of 2013, as a result of which, the previous year's total was not quite achieved. The BMW 4 Series performed exceedingly well, with sales volume of 119,580 units (2013: 14,763 units).

These figures seem incorrect, too. GM reported "In 2014, the company and its dealers delivered 9,924,880 vehicles around the world, surpassing by 2 percent the record set in 2013." Are you possibly mixing U.S. and global sales?

Those things said, I think that they might have meant "Currently Accounting for around 25 percent of total 2014 BMW worldwide vehicle sales, the BMW 3 Series Sedan and Sports Wagon represent the brand’s most successful model line with over 14 million lifetime sales globally."

I thought this time around history wasn't going to repeat its self and BMW would change the headlights on the m3 as well, to bad I think it would have looked good and it's seems like headlights are more of a big deal now days than in the past. It's the jewelry for the front of the car but maybe that's just me. Still going to place a order.

For me the most significant thing is track handling package with oem non rft and hopefully that will include m performance suspension. The 3 series will be a completely different beast with these two things.

I like the new look, it's not a huge LCI like the E90 days, but it's good!
Now we need to hear more about the new 330i & 340i Engines / New Steering.

I like the new headlights, ya maybe I like the signature circular Angel Eyes like the old generations...but BMW started to let it go I think from the announcement of the LCI F01.

Minor changes here and there from inside...adding chrome on the Controls reminds me of Audi when started to add that in all their face-lifted cars (2009+)

New colors, the Blue one needs to be seen on real life!

I watched all videos but i didn't fall on taillights signalling scene.
It's crap that they didn't put any scene about how look taillights when they are active. There is only one scene on sportline video at 2:54 and its front headlight signalling.
If someone realised can you please tell me a link.

Looks like the reverse lights are halogen still so much for "full LED"

Since the items in that package are already available on xDrive MSports (I have them) the real question is how have they improved if any.

Well they didn't update the front lights on the e92 lci they only updated the tears. So sense the m sedan shared the coupes front end it was not updated either. Sands true for the f80. It's harder to tell than it was on the e90 but the f80 also shared the same front clip with the m4 and 4 series. That's why the grills are wider and headlights slightly longer. If you park it next to a normal 3 series like I did you can see the difference. So if they do it the same way as the e92 an only update the 4 series coupes rear lights then the m3 front won't get face lifted either as it shares the coupes front facia

True. Because now you have to wait for all the M parts like exhaust and power kit. Glad I got my 2015. I'm still eager to see how the steering and chassis were updated.
