340i being held at VPC for open campaign (fuel tank issue)

Good morning everyone,

Just was wondering if anyone has the ability to see what open campaigns are available for the 2016 340i. My CA just called me and said my car is being held at the port because of it.

Did a google search, seems to be a recall. You can type your vin on the BMW website to check I believe.

I have a 16 340i, put in my VIN on the bmw website, no open recalls for me....

When you find out what recall yours has update us!

Yeah, they didn't call it a "recall". She kept using the term "open campaign" but didn't have any info about it. I tried calling BMW Genius and they didn't have any info either.

Does anyone know if this can be escalated with BMWNA to try and get some sort of info?

My VIN didn't show any open recalls.

That page doesn't even recognize my VIN as a valid VIN. So now I'm freaking about about:

Order tracking # says my SA-build 340i xDrive is still "at port awaiting a shipping vessel"

1) My VIN isn't valid ?! WTF?
2) Is my car involved in a recall? Yet another delay?

Honestly no, I didn't ask. The update takes about a day. Probably quite a few cars cued up making the wait a bit longer

I spoke with BMW Genius again, and they can verify that my car is not in a "held" status at the VPC. He said that when it's held, it's usually because of a recall.

The last guy I spoke with seems to think that the PIA are the reason it's taking so long, but he wasn't sure. This Friday will be 2 weeks since it arrived at the VPC.

yup, B58's are putting out too much HP, so they have recalled them to detune them.

Oh? Did the % or MF change in April? I haven't heard of anything yet, but that might be good news!

EDIT: Yeah, just saw the numbers. Nice bump for the 3 series residual! I hope I can still take advantage of my $1500 lease credit that I had applied last month when they wrote up my deal.

My 340 was in for an oil change yesterday. A software update was available. I did not originally want it because of coding, but my service advisor said " new cars cannot be sold until it is complete. So it must be needed. I had the choice. According to the invoice it was called: "Program and encode control units"
(SIB 1241 15) I need my car recoded now.

BMW Genius just called me and advised that it's definitely being held for some type of service/update. He wasn't sure if it was affecting all 340i's, but he did say that the VPC was working with the home office in Munich to make sure it's 100%. I was told it was a high priority and should be done shortly.

More updates to come I suppose....

This is freaking me out a bit. My boat should get to California next week. I don't know how I'd react to any major delays at this point.

If anyone else hears anything I'd be really curious. My car is supposed to be arriving at port on Saturday and it would be good to know what sort of delay to expect, if any. I contacted my rep but haven't heard back yet.
