My vacation is around the corner in Nov, and my 440 will be parked near 2 months.
I've searched and some say disconnect battery, some say disconnected battery might mess with the electronic codes, and a battery tender is recommended.
Should I disconnect the battery for this time frame? Should I park it with a full gas tank? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

You don't have any friends or family you trust to look after your car? They'll just need to drive it once or twice during the time your away to keep everything ticking.

Man if only my good friends are local. But just relocated.
I'm even thinking about renting a garage space near airport...(open space parking at my place)
not sure if airport parking be safe for 2 months?

Get a ctek charger, over inflate tires by about 5 psi and leave with a full tank. 2 months is nothing, my 340 spends 6 months in hibernation. Will the car be garaged? If not, some critter repellent too. Enjoy your vacation

thank you!
Seeing mixed ctek reviews tho. Any particular one you'd recommend?
I'm thinking if I should rent a garage (or airport parking? Not sure if it's be safe for the 2 months) or it'll just be exposed under the sun.

50 lbs air in tires
Battery tender
Steel wool in exhaust
Stabilizer in full tank
Crack windows
Don’t start periodically
I’d put neutral charcoal in tub in back seat
Have great trip

This is what I have, my car stays hooked up to it for 6 months straight with no issues. Good reviews too.

Good info, but note that battery tenders are usually not intelligent enough to not over charge the battery, this a good battery charger is recommended.
What is neutral charcoal? And why do you recommend cracking the windows...

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm your new best friend. Just give me the keys to your 440i. I promise to take great care of it while you're gone. After all, I am a professional!

2 months isn’t really that much to worry about. If you’re parked outside in an open/covered spot, then obviously a charger isn’t feasible. Personally I’d just fill up the gas tank, overinflate the tires a bit as others have recommended, cover with a car cover if you want (after thorough washing), and call it a day. Put some mothballs in the engine bay if your area has critters that might eat the wiring.

You have good odds that the car will start right up after 2 months if it’s not an older battery. If you have some cash to burn then pick up one of these just in case you need a jump; I keep one in the trunk of all my cars for emergencies.

I haven't driven my E46 in a few months. I just keep it on a CTEK tender and keep a container of damp-rid in the cabin.

Woooo thank you for the insight on parking outside. So the charger wouldn't be feasible...but it'd be nothing to worry about since it's only 2 months.
How much should the tire be overinflated?
Hmm got 17' CPO just beginning of this year. Not sure if they switched out for new batteries...

Yea, I'd get a battery tender if I'm parking within a garage. But it's open parking space, and I'm guessing battery tender would be out of the question unless I rent a garage?

I've done this to two or three F series and they are fine to sit that long.

Each time they fired up when first started without issue.

Oh yeah, sorry I looked over where you said that. If there's an outlet nearby you could keep the tender in the trunk, attaching the leads to the battery back there. On my E46 I can shut it with the cord without issue, I have to do this since it's kept outside (fortunately in the shade).

Either use a tender or disconnect the battery.

So basically just overinflate the tires, have a full tank and it's all set?

Yea unfortunately there isn't any outlet nearby...
And I'm debating if I'd rent a garage for 2 months or leave it outside as is, and perhaps with a cover since it'll be exposed to sun (with the precautions recommended here)

I thought those ctek ones are able to just trickle charge and not overcharge 🤔
