N47 drive belt, vibration damper and other routine maintenance for high miler
Hi all
Just ticking over 120k miles on my 2014 520d with the n47d20c engine, running great so far What sort of mileage should I look to be replacing the drive belts, tensioners, water pump, vibration damper? I want this car to keep on going as long as possible, currently putting 5-600 miles a week on it and it needs to last! It will be going for a dpf clean around Easter time (local company which specialises in it - fully remove, clean, flow test and refit) |

I think you should do accessory belt, crankshaft pulley/vibration dampener, and cooling system right away.
I wouldn't trust the crankshaft pulley for more than 100,000 miles, so this one would be a priority. I do not think there is an established maintenance interval. But all your listed items are related. You should add a thermostat to that.

Just curious, Is the crankshaft pulley a problem part? I've never had a car where that was suggested to be replaced as part of maintenance. I have the accessory belt hanging on my wall for the next time I get motivated. Just broke 100k, so if the pulley's recommended as well maybe I should pick one up as well.

Not necessarily a problem part, at least not as bad as the M57 had it. Pulley has a similar design with a large amount of rubber.
There are at least 2 cases of it mentioned in the high mileage thread.
