Navigation Issues
Hi all, I am having a major issue with my nav. I am located in BC Canada but my nav shows that I am in WA USA. Has anyone encounter this problem and does anyone know how to fix it.
Thanks in advance! |

I guess that won't solve my issues. I tried to reset it by pressing on the on/off knob for 25 secs and the problem still existed. Is this an issue with my antenna?
I had my roof and antenna wrapped and could this be the cause of my issue? |

did the issue begin after the wrapping? What material was used. Unless it contained some metallic particles, I don't see how it could cause any reception interference. Even if it did, I would expect a decrease in reception sensitivity for the radioas well, not a geo displacement issue. Does the NAV display track correctly relative to the displayed position, but offset by whatever the error is?

The issue happened after the wrap(or should I say re-wrap of the roof only) and the material used is 3M vinyl. The radio reception is fine. When I am in motion, the Nav shows that I am moving and stops when I am not.

Have you attempted to reboot the i-Drive system?
"To reboot the CIC-based (4th generation) iDrive, press and hold the audio volume/mute knob for 25 seconds." Its' worth a try. I can't explain why your GPS Geo present position has suddenly shifted. that's weird. |

Thanks! I did that twice last night and it did not work. Not sure if there was a wire loose or not connected properly after the wrap job but my guy who did the wrap will take a look at the antenna tonight. Hopefully that is the issue as I know BMW will not warranty this issue due to the removal of the antenna. Fingers crossed!

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! It was probably a loose connection and after reconnecting the wires twice, the problem still existed. Had to move my car a few feet and I am back in business.
