Best way for hiding the phone mount charging cable
I'm sure many of you have done it and posted it, but i couldn't pinpoint a post
Basically, i have a wireless charging phone holder mounted on my center driver side vent, which is plugged into the cig lighter plug near the cup holders. I hate to see the ashtray open all the time with the charger plugged in it (OCD ) and a cable going up the side all the way to the mount. Can anyone guide me to the cleanest install that would hide the cable and ideally liberate the ashtray plug so i can close it? Thank you very much! Maz |

Use the outlet under the glove box on the passenger side. Most cars came through with it, although I've seen reports where there was only a hole. You can tuck the wire under the dash trim.

I've done something similar with the Rennline phone mount and a wireless charger instead of the magnet that came with the mount.
I bought a flat USB cable and routed the cable through the dash radio trim and down to the 12 volt cigarette lighter adapter plugin in the passenger footwell where the USB cable is plugged into a USB to 12 volt adapter. To route it, route it from the footwell up into the dash with a coat hanger (attach the USB cable with some tape to the hanger and straighten out the hanger). It looks super clean when it's all said and done. Where the red arrow is in the picture, that's where the USB cable is routed through the dash trim. To do this, you have to temporarily remove the radio trim and the dash trim piece below the radio trim. I believe there are just Phillips screws that are holding the radio trim. The dash trim piece below the radio trim just pops out with a trim removal tool and has some clips that are holding it. Once you have the USB cable fed through the dash, I'm sure you can arrange it to look clean with your setup (have the cable come out of the top of the radio trim or something similar). Or maybe opt to use the Rennline mount like I did and have your phone sit to the right of the radio trim like in my pictures, but that's just another option. I also used the Rennline phone mount. I ran a charging cable from the usb port in center console under I-Drive control panel up to front. I can tuck cable up under dash when not in use, and you can even see it. Makes for a clean look.
