oil alternatives
I was on Fcpeuro site and put my vehicle information in. There was not even a choice for a 0w-20. 5w30 and the 40 were popping up. LiquMoly. On a side note..does anyone know a good site to get oil/filter combo with the crush washer and o-rings?
Thanks. |

I go wherever the price is best. That's usually Amazon. Note that Amazon gives incorrect information. The correct Mann filter if you have xDrive is the HU 816 X, which includes the crush washer. The HU 816 Z is for RWD, it includes a new plug for the plastic pan that the RWD versions use. As for FCP Euro, you've got to know what you want and order it. You can't count on them to know, for instance, that Molygen 5w-30 is as good as any lubricant and better than most for an N20.

Am running Liquimoly Special Tec 5w-30 and no hiccups or any minor issues, recommend sticking to the original equipment filter, genuine may be expensive but, Mann Filters makes the BMW part, buying it directly from Mann Filters selling online stores will save you money. The filter comes with all the o-rings and crush washers necessary.
