That's the Varis style front lip. You can find it in polyurethane or carbon fiber.

On a stock F36, that setup will likely rub in the rear under suspension compression, depending on your specific tire selection. This rubbing could be alleviated by a rear fender roll and/or a touch of additional rear negative camber. For an easier fitment you could run slimmer tires on those same wheels, with a 235/40-18 front and a 265/35-18 rear. OR you can run a higher offset 18x9.5" ET43 rear wheel, which will give you 8mm of additional rear fender clearance compared to the 18x9.5" ET35, which could allow you to run a 275/35-18 without rubbing. Hope this helps! -Geirsen

Looking at the Front: 19x9" ET28 with 245/35-19 tires
Rear: 19x9.5" ET33 with 275/30-19 tires arc-8 setup for my 435i. Will this fill out the wheel wells on my car with the stock electronic damping? Im not sure that I want to get rid of the stock suspension in favor of coilovers. Stock M-sport suspension with electronic damping. update: I do not have xdrive. Would arc 8 9” ET30 square with 255/40/18 be rub free on:
F36 with stock Msport suspension RWD with A/S tire like the newer Michelin a/s 4s? I saw a post on here of a black F36 with the same wheel setup calming its rub free but it was lowered lowered on H&R with conti dws06+ and xdrive vs rwd. Is this sufficient to assume my setup will not rub? Been reading tons and would really love to run 255/40 vs 245/40 squares. |

The 18x9" ET30 square setup with 245/40-18 tires is pretty much a guaranteed rub-free direct fit on a stock F3X. In most cases, 255/40-18 tires are also a direct fit but can occasionally require a touch of additional front negative camber when running more aggressive performance-focused tire compounds. However, with an all-season such as the AS4, you shouldn't have any issues with 255/40-18s, especially with stock suspension. Hope this helps! -Geirsen

My apologies if this comes off lazy but can you tell me what is the max size/offset I can achieve for a square 19" set up without rubbing? No matter how much material I read, I cannot seem to wrap my head around wheel offset, relative to the overall width of wheel/tyre.
I have the OEM staggered 19" set up right now, I believe 255 rear and 225 fronts. RWD/M adaptive dampers, stock height. I like the more aggressive offset of the rears and would like emulate that for all four corners, if possible. thanks for your help. |

The widest square fitment we ever recommend for these cars without serious mods and fender work is an 18x9.5" ET35 or 19x9.5" ET33. With this size paired with a 255/35-18 or 255/30-19, you may need a rear fender roll, added negative camber, and possibly a 3mm front spacer for suspension clearance depending on the tire selected. Please also note that with a 9.5" width wheel up front, inner strut clearance will be very tight so this setup is not recommended for coilovers that limit inner clearance like KW variants, Bilstein PSS10s, Ohlin R&T, etc. Feel free to search through our Flickr page to get a better idea of how each setup will look. Most photos will have fitment specs listed in the descriptions: APEX F3X Flickr Gallery Let me know if you have any additional questions! -Ian

Thank you! Soo... a 19x9 ET28 would poke out slightly more (2mm?) than a ET30? Or is it the other way around? This is where I can't seem to wrap my pea brain around because it is always opposite of what I think is intuitive. A tyre of 245/35-19 would be slightly less wide but slightly more tirewall height than a 255/30-19? I like the EC-7 for example, and I think that comes in 19x9ET30. However, the photos/specs I see listed on a 435i taken back in 2015 seem to indicate it was an ET40 at the rears. Would an ET30 be more aggressive? (https://www.flickr.com/photos/apexra...7632937145866/) I like a slightly beefier stance without going overboard. Aside from the tune and exhaust that I already have, I doubt I will do any suspension mods and have peace of mind leaving it stock. |

Hello,
Apex- is there a reason you guys stopped making the 19 x 9 or 9.5" wheels with the 40 range offsets? I would like to use them for a rear fit and I see in looking back through this thread and on others, you guys did make the higher offsets at one point in time. Thank you! |

Will They Fit? Yes, a 245/35-19 tire will be both narrower and have a slightly taller sidewall in comparison to a 255/30-19 size. The link below is helpful in comparing the over all diameter of two different tire sizes: Tire Size Calculator The ET30 wheel is more aggressive compared to an ET40, however the square 19x9" ET30 fitment we recommend is a direct fit on this chassis at all four corners with a 245/35-19 or 255/30-19 street oriented tire compound. You can checkout our fitment guide for specifics on all fitment we recommend: F3X Wheel and Tire Fitment Guide As always, feel free to email us anytime at expert@apexraceparts.com if we ever miss a forum post or if you have any time sensitive questions! -Ian

I m going to run Michelin A/S 4s 255/40r18, I believe your coworker Geirsen confirmed that this setup should be rub free "especially on stock suspension". I just ordered a set so should have tires in a week or two.

I'm looking at either the FL-5 or the SM-10 for my 2018 Gran Coupe. I want to keep my stock 225-45-18 front and 255-40-18 rear tires. What sizes should I get the wheels in?

Just ordered square ARC-8's 18x9 ET30 today, as well as Conti DWS 255/40/18. Should get them mounted/balanced next week.
My 2015 335xi is lowered on Eibach 05-22 springs and Koni Yellow struts. I'm currently running square factory 18" wheels/tires with 12/18mm spacers and some noticeable side wall poke without issue. Fingers crossed the 255's will fit without rubbing, as I don't have camber plates and prefer not to. I was inspired by all the members here who are lowered (not slammed) like me and having good success with that size, and the Conti's are slightly smaller than the Michelins. |
